AI agent ownership change
I was just in the M365 Admin Center because I needed to transfer ownership of an agent for a colleague – but it now suddenly looks like Microsoft has changed something in their permission structure. As a result, I can no longer transfer ownership of agents, and the system tells me that I don't have permission to manage that particular app. So, the question is: do I now also need the Application Administrator role in order to continue managing this?

Yes, you now need to either become the AI Administrator or Global Administrator role to perform ownership transfers and other management actions on AI agents.

Changing the owner of an agent in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center is considered a governance action and requires either the AI Administrator or Global Administrator role.
I haven't found any informations indicating that the Application Administrator role is required for the "Assign new owner" action.
One detail that stands out is the message shown in your screenshot: "Management of this app requires a different set of admin permissions."
This could indicate that the operation is being blocked at the level of the underlying application associated with the agent rather than at the agent object itself.
What role is currently assigned to your account ?
And whether the agent was bulding with Copilot Studio or Agent Builder ?
If your objective is to transfer ownership of the agent, the first thing you could verify is that your account has either the AI Administrator or Global Administrator role, as these are the roles for this operation.
