Microsoft Access and Outlook
Hi there,
I have just updated my laptop (with a view for a faster laptop!)
However, Access was working fine and now i can't send emails from access through outlook like before.
I get a message to say a program is trying to send an email message on your behalf. I'm not sure how to get rid of this warning!
Please help.... Thank you in advance

In Outlook, go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Programmatic Access.
Check whether the Antivirus status shows Valid. If it does not, update or enable Windows Security or your antivirus, restart the laptop, and test again. Outlook can show this warning when antivirus protection is inactive or out of date.
I would not select Never warn, since that lowers the security protection around programmatic access.
If Programmatic Access is unavailable, or the antivirus status already shows Valid, ask your IT administrator to review the Outlook security policy applied to the device.

Your new laptop now has "New" Outlook, which no longer supports COM automation--in this case the ability to automate sending emails.
The solutions available include rolling back to "Classic" Outlook, and developing a different approach to automating the sending of emails from Access.https://www.accessforever.org/post/new-outlook-the-situation-in-december-2024

I don't think so George. The OP is getting a message "trying to send an email on your behalf".
That is a Classic Outlook message, and the fix is here.

You are right. Knee-jerk reaction on my part.
