Video Super Resolution Missing Options in Setting
Enhance videos in Microsoft Edge (Flag: #edge-video-super-resolution) is missing critical options in setting, making it impossible to function properly.
In Version 136.0.3240.29 (Official build) beta (64-bit), as well as the previous beta build, it is missing the option to choose from three methods of video enhancement, as shown in screenshot.
Here is the setting from latest beta build:
This is how it is supposed to look:
Thus, beta build defaults to Microsoft Super Resolution and I can't find a way to use graphics driver enhancement like RTX Super Resolution, which is critical to my experience.
Also, HDR is no longer supported when video enhancement is enabled, which I believe is a limitation of Microsoft Super Resolution.
Seems like MS has deleted this function across all channels. Here is a temporary solution for RTX VSR:
edge://flags/#edge-video-super-resolution
Set the above flag to disable and restart browser, and this will force to enable RTX VSR whenever available.
There will be no toggle, and you have to control RTX VSR using Nvidia app or control panel.

This bug still remains just the same today. On the latest stable release at the moment (139.0) on the latest public non insider build of Win 11 (24H2 26100.4770). I remember RTX VSR breaking before in Edge and it taking months to get fixed, then this happens. Come on guys.
I truly like Edge and it's been my default since the Chromium based release. Including on mobile. But it shouldn't take months to fix this kind of stuff. Thankful I figured out the workaround posted when I noticed this issue. Made a post on the Edge sub-reddit to see if it was just me and obviously it's not.
RTX VSR is also broken on Firfox currently (at least for YouTube) . It won't work on YouTube unless you use something like uBlock Origin, not for ad blocking but by adding the following to "My Filters".
www.youtube.com###ytd-player.ytd-watch-flexy:style(border-radius:0 !important;)
www.youtube.com##ytd-masthead:style(opacity:0.98 !important;)Found that fix on Reddit, something to do with the UI of YouTube's video player causing a bug that makes it where RTX VSR does not enable unless the video is fullscreen. Thankfully that fixes it (you can verify by going into the Nvidia app>System>Video click on Super Resolution and check the box for "show status indicator on video" and it will display a little watermark in the top right of the video whenever RTX VSR is in use. How I was able to verify that the fix posted here works as well when I was troubleshooting and thankfully thought to give the fix OP shared a try.
Still would be nice if this doesn't take ~3-6 months to fix like last time.

please bring back this option. microsoft vsr is not that good and not being able to toggle nvidia vsr directly inside the browser is annoying. everytim you have to open the nvidia app and disable or enable it in the driver.

after updated to the latest Version 137.0.3296.52, the whole Microsoft Super Resolution seems being removed, so no matter enable or disable it in flag, it does not appear in settings, nvidia vsr is turned on by default

nvidia vsr is turned on by default
-> How to turn on VSR in NV app or somewhere?

I have the same issue. Solution with a flag deactivation helped so far.

Even with the workaround, this change is frustrating. Having a toggle in the address bar to quickly turn RTX VSR on or off was incredibly convenient. I don’t want my RTX fans to spin up every time I watch a high-resolution YouTube video—before this change, I could disable it in an instant. Now, being forced to go through the driver to turn it off is a tedious detour.

Same here. VSR is a must-have feature for Microsoft Edge, please fix it ASAP!

Not to mention how much worse Microsoft Super Resolution and “vivid mode” are than RTX SVR and RTX HDR. Can’t fathom how it is that Microsoft still haven’t added the option to stack MSR with vivid mode yet. That should’ve been the first thing that came to mind if they wanted more ppl to use their features and help train their AI

Really hope they didn’t remove the toggle that lets you use RTX Video Super Resolution on purpose and it’s just a bug. Removing it would be braindead. It’s literally the only reason I even use Edge and I bet that’s true for most ppl here

Same problem. MS Edge 136.0.3240.50.
Preferred method of video enhancement option is missing. Was working on version 135.

Go to edge://flags/ and RESET ALL.
I used to have the Microsoft Video Super Resolution ‘enable’ option selected.
After a reset, the option returned in the menu.
