Out of memory error - Access Version 2610 (Build 20527.20088)
Multiple customers are reporting out of memory error after Office updated to version 2610 (Build 20527.20088). Some customers would receive the out of memory error after an hour or within a few minutes of use. There are instances where error would not occur, and msaccess would just crash. We are rolling customers back to Office version 2608 (Build 20326.20144), and that seems to resolve this issue. Here is the dump file when crashing occurred.

Hi Henry,
Microsoft thinks to have identified the crash cause and they should be resolved with tomorrow’s update, 16.0.20527.20150. If you/your customers have a chance to validate with that build, please let us know, if the fix works.

Thanks Karl. Looks like the update fixed the issue, we have a number of customers that updated, and they are not having the out of memory or crashing issue anymore.
Hi Henry,
A question to narrow down the affected versions/builds:
Why are you rolling them back to version 2608 instead of 2609? Just like that, or have you tested the rollback to 2609 and found that it didn't fix the problem?
Info for other readers: Microsoft is investigating and trying to reproduce the crashes. hlau here is already providing crash dumps that could help. Let me know if there is an affected reader here who can provide a repro database (potentially reduced to the bare essentials) that "reliably" shows the crashes.

Karl_Donaubauer Here is the dump file from someone who had the crashing issue that is on version 2610 build 20527.20112.

We are rolling back customers to version 2608 because it seems to be the most stable version at this point. Version 2609 still have a number of issues. These issues do not occur with all customers, but it seems to affect a portion of these customers that are on versoin 2609.
- Out of memory and crashing issue.
- Can't open reports unless default printer is set as the 'Microsoft Print to PDF'.
- Can't print unless default printer is set as the 'Microsoft Print to PDF', then user can select which printer to print to.
- MSAccess can't be opened unless default printer is set as the 'Microsoft Print to PDF'.
Yes, rolling back to Version 2608 (Build 16.0.20326.20144) is currently the only workaround.
Hi Henry,
If it is again related to reports, then there's the new build 20527.20112 available in the Current Channel that contains a fix for a memory problem. See the note on top of this MSFT blog article. However, I'm not sure, it is the same problem, as that one should not cause crashes.
