Microsoft Surface Dial support - how about OneNote?
https://blogs.windows.com/devices/2017/04/10/announcing-new-creativity-apps-unique-capabilies-surface-dial/#yO59yHJuTMKJJK2j.97 Good afternoon all, I saw this announcement in April about these new apps that are supporting the Microsoft dial. I am really hoping to hear that MIcrosoft will be adding support for this on the MIcrosoft apps, specifically the OneNote capabilities that are very similar to the functionality demoed in these 3rd party apps. But OneNote makes a ton of sense for color wheel and pixel depth etc, just in the basic use of OneNote.csmithscfMay 01, 2017Iron Contributor4.2KViews2likes2CommentsWhen will Surface Studio get a VR Development Ready GPU?
I really would like to try doing some mixed and virtual reality development on my Surface Studio but I could not get the Oculus Rift or the HP Windows Mixed Reality head set to work with my Surface Studio. This is a shame because Visual Studio works great. Is there any hope for an external GPU solution until the hardware gets refrehed?SolvedJose OglesbyAug 07, 2017Copper Contributor2KViews0likes1CommentBlue screen of death :(
I am getting the blue screen of death once or twice a day, since getting the Surface Studio. The most recent was BAD_POOL_HEADER. Before that it was DRIVER_CORRUPTED_EXPOOL a few times. How can I make it work all the time?Dan VanderboomFeb 26, 2017Copper Contributor1.6KViews0likes1CommentSurface Laptop Studio easily stripped screws
Was trying to install a new memory card into my Surface, but the two side screws stripped incredibly easily, after just 2 turns. Any advice? Additionally, the screws being hidden under the rubber feet and metallic tape is a pain, especially considering they don't re-stick easily and Microsoft doesn't offer replacement feet.beyaffeDec 30, 2022Copper Contributor1.9KViews0likes1CommentWindows MR on Surface Studio 2
I think there may be a graphics card driver issue with the Surface Studio 2 or possibly a software issue with the Windows Mixed Reality Portal and its ability to output video over a USB-C port. I recently upgraded from a Surface Pro 5 to the Surface Studio 2. My Lenovo Explorer Windows Mixed Reality headset doesn't work with the Surface Studio. I've tested and confirmed that it still works on the Surface Pro 5 (using the official Microsoft mini display port adapter). Seeing as how the Studio 2 doesn't have that port, I'm using the Microsoft USB-C to HDMI adapter on the Studio 2. The headset it recognized. Tracking works just fine, but in the HMD itself no image is shown. The back-light turns on in the headset, so it's just showing a slightly illuminated black screen. I'm running Windows 10 Pro 1809 with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card (driver details in the screenshot below). There doesn't appear to be any driver updates available for either the graphics card or the headset. I checked both by just looking for driver updates in device manager and manually at Lenovo's site. All devices listed in device manager are properly addressed (no yellow exclamation marks). Looking at the https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/surface-usb-c-to-hdmi-adapter/94chb2m80s54/4gj5?cid=msft_web_collection&activetab=pivot:reviewstabfor the USB-C to HDMI adapter, it seems like other people are having problems with Mixed Reality on Surface products that output video over USB-C. One reviewer mentions having an HP 1440 MR HMD which doesn't work on a Surface Book 2. That makes me kind of suspect that the problem may be within the Mixed Reality Portal software itself (rather than the graphics card driver, port, or adapter cable).DeletedJan 15, 20192.1KViews0likes1Comment- karupusamyJul 30, 2021Copper Contributor835Views1like1Comment
The Adventure begins - Surface Studio 2
I just got my new SS2 and since there aren't many posts/discussions about the true user interface for designers, Architects, etc. with this amazing machine, I plan to share my experience with all MS apps, and with graphic apps like SketchUp, AutoCAD, Concepts, Drawboards, etc. Any experiences, suggestions, etc., from members here, are greatly appreciated. Thanks and more to follow soon.SbakosApr 25, 2021Copper Contributor937Views0likes1Comment
