Edge for Android No Longer Opens Google Calendar Links in External App
I'm reporting a regression in Microsoft Edge for Android that has disrupted my workflow on a Samsung Galaxy A9+ tablet running Android 15.0. Until recently, Edge correctly handed off supported links—such as “Add to Google Calendar” URLs—to the Google Calendar app, in accordance with Android’s intent routing and app defaults. Now, Edge traps these links inside its internal WebView, even when: - “Open supported links” is enabled for the Google Calendar app - “Block opening external apps” is disabled in Edge settings - No site-specific override exists for calendar.google.com When I tap a calendar link, Edge briefly flashes a system prompt asking whether to open in the external app or stay in Edge—but this prompt immediately disappears, and the calendar loads inside Edge. This contradicts Android’s expected behavior and breaks previously functional workflows. Notably, .ics files still open correctly in the Calendar app, confirming that system-level routing is intact. The issue appears to be with Edge’s handling of intent-based links, possibly introduced in a recent update. Device: Samsung Galaxy A9+ OS: Android 15.0, OneUI 7.0 Edge Version: 139.0.3405.111 I’m requesting that Microsoft investigate and restore proper external app handling for supported links. This is a serious usability regression, and users should not have to resort to alternate browsers or workarounds to maintain basic interoperability. There is a bug if you press the "Copy video frame" button. After pressing, there is a little notification at the top that should say that the frame was copied, but instead it's completely red, without any text, and it occurs no matter the site.26Views0likes0CommentsPWA shortcuts don't keep asociated with window - Linux
I recently upgraded to version140.0.3485.14 (Official build) beta (64-bit) and noticed that my PWA, even if they open correctly in a independent window, don't show the "running window counter" on the taskbar. So, for example, if a open Outlook, the window open and loads the app, but if a I click the icon again, it opens another window, wich is a little annoying. I tried removing the PWA from Edge, rebooting, and installing again, but didn't work. Because the only change I made is updating Edge, I think is related to this build. (too lazy to go back or install the stable release)28Views0likes0CommentsMicrosoft Edge Completely Broken on Windows 11 – Need Urgent Help
Hello everyone, I’m experiencing a major issue with Microsoft Edge on Windows 11, and nothing I’ve tried so far has fixed it. Edge seems completely broken for me. Here are the problems I’m facing: The new tab page takes about 3 seconds to load. Icons on the new tab page are unclickable, and many appear as broken images. The built-in VPN refuses to turn on — it just doesn’t work. The translation feature is completely broken, always showing “Unable to translate page” errors. I cannot install any extensions. Every time I try, I get the error: “An error has occurred. Download interrupted.” Syncing doesn’t work at all. Favorites, passwords, and account data do not sync, even though I’m logged into my Microsoft account. Instead, it just says: “This feature is coming soon. We’ll keep you in touch.” What I’ve tried: Uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Edge. Completely removed Edge from my system and reinstalled it fresh. Used the “Repair” option for Edge. Repaired Windows 11 through the Windows Update repair tool. Unfortunately, none of these steps have helped. The issues remain exactly the same. Has anyone else run into this? Is there any way to fully reset or properly fix Edge? I’d greatly appreciate any guidance or solutions. Thank you in advance!94Views0likes0CommentsIntl.DateTimeFormat missing Welsh (cy / cy-GB) support
Hi! I'm a developer at a company who is currently working with the Welsh government and have come across an issue with Microsoft Edge. When using the Intl.DateTimeFormat JavaScript API in Microsoft Edge, there is no support for cy / cy-GB. Intl.DateTimeFormat.supportedLocalesOf("cy-GB"); // Outputs [] Intl.DateTimeFormat.supportedLocalesOf("cy"); // Outputs [] If a developer tries to do any date formatting with the locale set to cy or cy-GB, only English will be returned. Out of curiosity I tried this with and without the Windows language being set to Welsh / Cymraeg. The result was the same (no support). Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari have full support. Interestingly Google Chrome does not (perhaps shared issue / limitation of Chromium). Unfortunately this causes a bit of a significant challenge. Any website / web app developed for the Welsh government or related bodies is legally required to be available in Welsh. Due to the popularity of Microsoft Edge, particularly with governments and institutions, developers cannot reliably use the Intl based APIs. The only known workarounds are: To use a formatting library instead of Intl Avoids using the ECMAScript APIs designed to solve problems for developers Additional client side and developer maintenance costs To include very bulky polyfills Popular polyfill, locale and timezone information exceeds 2MB of data for the client to load per website / web app. Unsure if this a bug or locale which is yet to be supported. Adding support for Welsh would be a huge step forward and greatly appreciated by developers working with government bodies. Even better would be adding support for the same languages Windows supports!39Views0likes0CommentsEdge opens New Tab page shortcuts in a new tab instead of the same one
In the Edge browser, the sites added to the New Tab page started opening in a different tab instead of the same one. I constantly have to go back to the empty new tab and close it manually. How can I fix this?63Views0likes0CommentsEdge profiles not fully isolated — accounts from one profile visible in another
I’m using Microsoft Edge with two separate profiles, each signed in with a different Microsoft/Azure AD account and syncing independently. Sync works fine, but I noticed something odd: When I’m in my second profile, I can still see the account from my first profile listed as an available sign-in option (and vice versa). It seems that all accounts I use in Edge show up in every profile, even though I only want each account to exist in its own profile. From my understanding, profiles should be isolated, but it looks like Edge (or Windows) is pulling all accounts from a shared system account store. This isn’t ideal for me, as I want strict separation between profiles. My questions: Is there a way to prevent accounts from one profile showing up in another? Can Edge profiles be configured to not share the same system account list? Is this behavior by design, or am I missing a setting somewhere? I’m on Windows 11, latest version of Edge.35Views1like0CommentsWindows 11
Windows 11 OS has been the most useless upgrade of Microsoft with highest number of bugs. Mid performance laptops like dell 5510,i5 11th gen(nvidia mx450) which in my case also cannot run smoothly on windows 11. I have got a ton of issues on gpu, display and bugs where display rendering issues and blue screen error messages appear. Even the dark mode sucks. Biggest downfall for Microsoft in terms of stability 👎🏻46Views0likes0CommentsBlack borders appear in fullscreen Edge at default resolution
I’m using a 14-inch M3 Pro MacBook Pro with Microsoft Edge. When I go fullscreen in Edge at the default scaled resolution of 1512 x 982, black borders appear on the left and right sides of the screen. My cursor cannot move past these borders essentially the black bars on the screen grow. This only happens at the default resolution, if I switch to a different scaled resolution, the borders disappear. The issue does not occur in Microsoft Edge Dev. Steps to reproduce: On a 14-inch M3 Pro MacBook Pro, set display resolution to the default 1512 x 982. Open Microsoft Edge. Enter fullscreen mode. Expected behavior: The fullscreen window should fill the display edge-to-edge and allow the cursor to move to the edges, as it does in Edge Dev and at other scaled resolutions.23Views0likes0CommentsEdge Dev > Enterprise State Roaming / Sync Broke
I noted in Edge DEV my profile stopped syncing even though its set by policy to be on the journey took me to edge://settings/profiles/sync where turn on sync is presented - so i turn it on a confirm and cancel button appear as well as the expected other areas (but showing as off by policy???) hitting confirm just makes confirm and cancel disappear with no changes these are not new? what gives or is changing? is sync just broke in dev for now? Edge Beta and Stable are not impacted.31Views0likes0CommentsNew “Copilot Mode in Microsoft Edge" Unavailable for Enterprise Accounts
Hello, I’d like to report a frustrating inconsistency regarding access to the new “Copilot Mode in Microsoft Edge". At present, enterprise accounts with active Copilot licenses are unable to use this feature, while non-paying consumer accounts can access it freely. This seems counterintuitive—paying customers should receive enhanced functionality, not restrictions. As a licensed business user, I expected to benefit from innovations like Copilot Mode, not be excluded from them. I hope Microsoft will reconsider this limitation and align access policies with the value of the enterprise license.55Views3likes0CommentsEdge Tab Behavior with Surface Pen
Hi Folks, I posted this to Windows Feedback some time ago but have never heard anything and wanted to see if I could bring it up here as well. There's two related problems: When using a stylus and switching tabs in tablet mode with normal (Horizontal) tabs, that "X" is invisible but still active. If you attempt to switch tabs, you are very likely to hit the large "X" hitbox that you can't even see, and the tab will close. In Vertical Tab mode, almost the opposite behavior is occuring. When tapping in the tab area with a pen, it will NOT expand the tabs area to see the tab names, like it will with touching in that area. Also, if you open the Vertical Tab area with touch and click a different tab, the tab area stays open. If you open the Vertical Tab area with touch and then use the pen to select a tab, it immediately minimizes the tab area. Both of these behaviors are clearly linked to interpreting Pen input as if it is a mouse, when the behavior in this case should be acting more like touch. I really hope the team can resolve these issues, either in Edge or with Chromium. The tab close issue is very annoying. So much work was put into the dynamic resizing for Touch mode but it's not really usable in Touch mode with Pen. Thanks, Steven22Views0likes0Comments
