In today’s environment the way people work has changed. Since engaged employees are 46% more likely to feel like their company communicates well, organizations are looking to change the way they communicate with their global workforce. High Performing Organizations need the ability to drive engagement and productivity through streamlined corporate communications that reach users across the many channels they are working in.

Today we are announcing Microsoft Viva Amplify is now generally available. Viva Amplify is the newest addition to the Viva Suite, poised to transform the way organizations meaningfully reach and engage their employees. As businesses navigate an ever-evolving digital landscape, effective internal communication has become more crucial than ever before. With Viva Amplify, organizations can leverage centralized campaign management, multi-channel publishing, and reporting capabilities to empower corporate communicators to connect with every employee effortlessly.

Empowering corporate communicators

Organizations face a multitude of challenges in effectively communicating with their employees. As the workforce becomes more dispersed and diverse, maintaining engagement and alignment has become increasingly complex. Viva Amplify is designed to streamline and centralize the work corporate communicators do, all in one place - enabling communicators to create and manage campaigns, add reviewers, and schedule publications to ensure operational success throughout the campaign.

Preview content and schedule the date and time of publications.

Add team members for review or approval before sending.

In the midst of ongoing initiatives, coordinating multiple campaigns across various channels and apps can lead to extra work and disjointed messages. Viva Amplify centralizes campaign management, providing a single view to strategize, plan, and execute impactful campaigns.

With an array of communication apps and devices, crafting consistent and effective messages across platforms poses a significant challenge. Corporate communicators can use Amplify to draft, preview, and publish messages that reach every employee in the apps that they are using every day, ensuring that every employee has the information they need.

Publish messages to Outlook, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Viva Connections, and (coming soon) Viva Engage

Once sent, measuring the impact of communication efforts is critical. Communicators need visibility into who has read their communication and insights into how the message landed with their audience. Amplify introduces robust reporting and analytics, enabling communicators to measure the success of their campaigns and make data-driven decisions to improve them.

Armed with valuable insights around reach, virality, and sentiment, communicators can drill into their campaigns to understand performance and fine-tune their efforts. Communicators can even analyze their data based on information from their HCR systems of record allow pivots on job function, level in the organization, location, role, and more.

Viva Amplify charts the course for secure and streamlined corporate communication

Microsoft's commitment to secure integration and collaboration lies at the core of everything we do. Today, data security and privacy are of paramount importance to organizations and their employees. Viva Amplify offers a secure environment to share messages without compromising sensitive information, all while respecting the permissions and channels that have already been established within Microsoft 365.

  • I have been waiting excitedly for Amplify. Great work! Getting it via the Viva C&C license is the best value entry point for organisations. I am excited to start working with communications teams and communicators who will use Amplify to craft, send and measure their messages.

Firstly, I want to thank darrellaas  for his really helpful videos on this topic.

I have a number of specific questions based on a common use case where internal (IT, HR, CISO, Sales, program and portfolio) communications are typically sent out to end users using Outlook, which does not provide useful telemetry (Open Rates, Click Through Rates, Time Duration on Email, etc.)

    • Q1: It is possible to get/pay for Viva Amplify licenses for just the Communications Team Members that send these emails most?
    • Q2: Do the Approvers Roles need Viva Amplify Licensing as well? Or can you add anyone as an Approver at any time, ad hoc, including the Reassign step (EAs, Executives, Legal, etc.) without additional cost?
    • Q3: Do end users across the enterprise who are recipients of such emails, SharePoint updates, and Teams Posts pushed through Amplify have to have Amplify licenses too? I would think not, but want to confirm.
    • Q4: Can you send from a Shared Mailbox, so that when people respond it will go back to that shared Mailbox?
    • Q5: How will co-authoring and co-editing work with a team of multiple senders or Comms Team members?
    • Q6: Why would you need to license every end user to get the details of their sentiment and engagement of the messages and post? What basic reporting comes standard without having to license every end user?

Appreciate any insights as many organizations look to improve how they capture insights and data on internal communications effectiveness.

So In the video clip I see a campaign with options to share to Outlook (email), Microsoft SharePoint, and Teams. Where is Viva Engage/Yammer in all of this?

Hi Naomi Moneypenny, Viva Amplify is looking really good! I love the way how effortless we can now publish campaigns throughout M365 🙂 I hope that Viva Engage gets to be part of the party soon too 👏🏼 The UX of the campaign creation is very intuitive and easy to use.

I did notice something that, to me at least, seems like a bug: when you publish one of the campaign publications on SharePoint, it is saved as a page with Promoted state value 1 (=News, that is not published) and because of this, it doesn't appear in any of the SharePoint news feeds. For published news, the Promoted state value should be 2. Of course, you can manually promote the page as news, but if you have published the campaign page on multiple sites, it kind of takes away the whole idea of Viva Amplify, doesn't it? So is this a bug or feature?

  • Well done guys! This is such a great addition to the Viva Suite. Communicators around the world will be delighted! 🤩

This is indeed an exciting development. And long overdue for those who drive employee engagement and internal communications efforts. Curious if there will be a "Best Practices" forum or opportunity to share among fellow Amplifiers.

    Hi,

I would like to have a couple of more info about Viva Amplify. In particular:

    • Will be available audience targeting of the messages?
    • The messages sent by Teams could be delivered both in chat and channels? Or only in channels?
    • As regards the request approvals, considering the audience targeting capability, could be used also for "signed for acknowledgement" with the reviews tracking?

If the answer will be yes for all these questions I think Amplify could really cover many use cases, not only that ones from Internal Comms.

    thank you
