Taking the probably inappropriate option of a comment to tghis post in the hope that the uthors will have sufficient authority, or access to the MS hierarchy to get something done about the delete the message icon that pops up alongside the vertical scroll bar for viewing messages in a folder.
See <Delete button - hide in outlook - Microsoft Community Hub>
I have just had to retrieve a set of messages for a user who, with a laptop inadvertently moved the curser a few pixels to the left of the scrollbar and deleted several messages before they realised the display movement was not due to a scroll action, but due to the messages being deleted - without the App asking for confirmation of delete, as detailed in the selected options.

(OK designed-in hazardous setup)
being resurrected time and time again as the default,
each time with less possible control for the user who wants to keep important emails!.

And – maybe do something so that the OneDrive team have the feedback reviewed by someone with sufficient authority to require that the reported problems and deficiencies are corrected ( preferably within this decade.)
