The Desktop Outlook is 99% used for email. But it is much closer to realizing the MSFT Product Management vision of being a business hub than the New Outlook. Exchange/Classic Windows Desktop Outlook support calculated fields, color/fonts based on data rules, filters on any property and views. These were core capabilities around since the 1990s and not ad-hoc add-ons as they suggest. The MSFT Product team seems oblivious to the original design of the Exchange/Outlook pair and seems to be focusing on GMail space. They may be right, but all this capability below will be lost.
