I am sorry to cross post if you've seen this elsewhere but I want to make sure this is seen by the right people:
Today I gave it another try and was pleasantly surprised to see that, finally, I can see my e-mail. I have a Google Workspace account and use IMAP. Here are the issues, all of them show stoppers:
- Not all of the e-mails in the inbox were displayed.
- An archive was shown, which reflects "All Mail" - but it was only a subset of the archive.
- While I can flag a message for follow-up, I can only flag it for a limited number of days. When I flag messages, most of the time I choose a date like a week away (not possible) or a month away (not possible). All of this is doable with the real Outlook.
- Because of the lack of search folders, there is no way to display only flagged messages. In order for this to be usable, it would need to search my archived mail for flagged messages, and only display those. I would not be keeping my flagged message in my inbox otherwise there wouldn't be any point in flagging them with a due date. The whole point is to remove them from the inbox. The way I do this at the moment, with real Outlook, is by saving only my flagged messages in a local folder, and creating a search folder that displays flagged messages in due date order. It's necessary to do it this way because with real Outlook you can't flag gmail messages with due dates, so I am actually quite surprised that the new Outlook allows you to do this.
