Uncle1050The way the new Outlook is designed (it's a wrapper for the Outlook web online app, similar to how Discord, Slack, Teams all work), adding VSTO/COM add-ins would be a major undertaking and Microsoft announced the technology is deprecated years ago. I would not be entirely surprised if they softened that stance somewhat, at least as far as timing, as the feature capabilities of web add-ins is woefully inadequate by comparison, even after soliciting feedback from the community and developers for YEARS now. But I am doubtful it hangs around forever and also doubtful that it ever makes its way into the new Outlook since by design it's not web friendly and cannot be run in Outlook online, which is a design goal Microsoft has had for years.
Still, it's worth making your opinion known. Years ago Microsoft tried to get rid of Office OneNote in favor of the vastly inferior Windows OneNote. After public outrage, they completely reversed course and Office OneNote because the "One OneNote" and the Windows OneNote is a dead product.
