This is an absolutely horrible change. The amount of issues I have with this is quite a list. I don't want to spend a half an hour or more writing about all of the things here right now. I'll just reference a couple. This thing doesn't have integration with the other Office Desktop apps, it's like a Desktop app of its own. Why would Microsoft make all the Office desktop apps to have this new consistent color scheme which included the proper Outlook prior to this new version, and then be in the works of not having this new Outlook to have that consistency? Is Microsoft planning on making this new Outlook to not actually be a part of the main Office desktop suite? Because that's what it seems to be. And the links on the left hand bar to other Office apps in the current proper Outlook send you to the desktop apps, but this new Outlook sends you to the lower quality web versions of Office apps. The current proper Outlook has Tasks and To-Do integrated inside the app, this new version has removed Tasks and when you try to go to To-Do, it sends you into the browser. Windows has its own To-Do app, if the app wanted to send a user to an external app, it would've made sense to send users to the Windows To-Do app and not the browser. I don't know about how many people are like me, but I suspect there're quite a few, with the modern Edge and Chrome browsers and tab sleeping and its resource saving enhancements, I have maybe just under 200 tabs open on multiple browser windows at any given time. Me using the low quality Office apps in my browser that Outlook sends me to isn't just unwanted in regards to the quality of the app, but also unwanted, like with To-Do that this new Outlook also sends me to the browser too, a big problem is tab overload, and I don't want to search through my multiple tabs and browser windows to find these things when I want them. Besides, why would I want to use the lower-quality Office online apps, when I have my higher quality Office desktop apps installed? This is absolutely absurd.
That's just the tip of the iceberg, I have quite a few other things I don't like about this new Outlook. It's just horrible.
The current Outlook is a highly professional tool. The new Outlook is like a kids toy in comparison. If Microsoft tries to force me to use this garbage, I will uninstall Outlook, and will have the proper current Outlook installed in a VM and continue using the proper Outlook. I will never use this new Outlook. It belongs in a toilet, flush it into the sewer, it's garbage.
