Petri-XYou are pretty late to the licence price change agitation! 😉
As much as I understand all the concern reg. budgeting I am a firm believer that this will actually help understanding the importance of workplace technology!
Considering a reasonably well used meeting space the monthly usd 40 license trickles down to about USD 0.40 per usage hour. Less than half a US-Dollar or Euro!! Now put this into perspective to the ca. USD 400 (!) of the overall cost of the people sitting in this meeting room on average. And what is the cost of building, cleaning, heating/cooling, administering a typical meeting room?
All I want to say is, that if an organization (or its IT or FIN people) is not smart enough not wasting their energy on the 0.1% but instead focus on the 99.9% of cost for meetings, than there is no help for them.
Full disclosure: I am neither from MSFT nor do I have any business in selling MS licenses! I am working as a workplace consultant.
This whole discussion is a perfect example for the non-understanding of the real costs.
2. Did anybody really believe, that the usd15 license was anything else than a teaser to get momentum into the MTR game when both Zoom and Webex room licenses are more into the 45 to 60 range?
It is almot hilarious, that this stunt worked considering how totally ignorable the usd 25 difference is (40 for new license vs 15 for the old model).
==> I am open for business helping you IT guys (both internal IT stuff as well as MSFT partners) explaining this to your bean counters.
