I checked in with the product managers on this before posting and they said that the option to enable DLP Analytics is only available to E5 customers. I interpret this as customers with one or more E5 licenses. Also, by DLP Analytics, we’re talking about the Policy Improvement and Risk Spotlighting tiles and not some of the other tiles or recommendations that might appear at this location. If you’re seeing the ‘Turn on analytics for risk detection….’ Option for a customer that only has E3, then it could be worth a support ticket to flag it with someone. If it’s displaying incorrectly, then the support engineers could validate this and raise it with product teams.
But also, sorry for the customers where E5 is out of reach, but that’s where the cool stuff is. Without using the advanced classifiers, I’m not sure if there’d be a way to provide the same DLP policy validation. It’s a fair comment that the DLP overview page could provide some E3 policy recommendations, but DLP Analytics wouldn’t be the right place for this as it’s an E5 feature.
