Hello everyone, as part of my degree, I will start using Windows Server 2016 from Monday. Big problem, I’m working with a MacBook M1, and I’m encountering a major issue since I can’t find any ARM64-compatible ISO for Server… I’m already working with W11 Pro but have been struggling for a week to find something that will work… Do you know if there’s a solution (no emulation) or an ARM64 version of Windows Server? Even 2019 or 2022. Help me out! 😭66Views0likes1CommentLooking for assistance with NPS cert based Wifi for Macs and PCs
So we have a somewhat unique situation that I am trying to figure out any solution that works.. We are currently using Meraki hardware for our wireless system and we have a directive from management to work to integrate out various systems so that we can deploy a company-wide wireless network(s) that used cert based authentication instead of the current username/password that times out every couple weeks. For further context, we have windows based servers with a local AD domain synced to Office 365. We are also using one of our DCs as a CA, but it is not being used for anything. We have several NPS servers setup and we can get our windows, domain joined machines to work fairly well on the Meraki System. The problem comes in with our Mac users. Our AD domain was setup moons ago when using a .int TLD for the domain name along with other best practice issues that would be too disruptive to properly fix. As of now, we can't get our Mac machines to properly authenticate or trust the Wi-Fi networks when we use the NPS profiles/certs. We did recently get invested in a PKI system through digicert that we are currently using for our Client VPN and have been trying to use auto-enrolled certs from that, but similarly to no avail. The final nail in the coffin is that we are under a budget crunch, so investing in something like JumpCloud or some other online hosted RADIUS service is not happening anytime soon. I have looked at the documentation for Setting up 802.1x and we can do user authentication fairly well, but we have been instructed to get machine/certificate based authentication working. Long story short, what I am hoping to find is an article or video or something that discusses setting up windows NPS to interact with Meraki SSIDs so that both domain joined PCs and non-domain joined Macs can use one or more SSIDs to do cert based authentication.3.7KViews0likes2CommentsIntroducing the new Performance Monitor for Windows

VAMT looks like legacy, albeit being updated and tremendously helpful: Do you use VAMT to manage your Office and Windows Server licensing, modern Windows Server or Office ADBA, traditional KMS or MAK? License assignment and reporting at scale? You should. In many cases it can also assist to get rid of KMS Server altogether and making it super easy to determine activation methods, migrate to other keys or from KMS to ADBA where appropriate. Whatever your usecase is, VAMT 3.1 is still being updated with every release of Windows ADK. One reason is the appearance of new OS or Office LTSC releases, but also added support to manage your Windows Client and Windows Server ESU at scale. WS 2012 / 2012 R2 ESU will be next. The issue: If you are using it, you might be currently on a release that may not allow to add Windows Server 2019 GVLK, or otherwise one that does not allow to add Windows Server 2022 GVLK. How to adress this: I found a workaround for this, without fiddling in the files. - Install ADKWindows 10 before 22H2 > VAMT - Install all neededGVLK keys in VAMT 3.1. - Windows Server 2008-2019, Windows 7-10 - uninstall ADK. - installWindows 11 ADK (currently latest 22H2) > VAMT - run VAMT, choosing the same database, - add Windows Server 2022 GVLK keys to VAMT. - now is a good time to backup the database using the latest SQL Management Studio (SMSS) Hint: Preferably place the VAMT database into an appropriate central SQL Standard instance, instead of the default SQL Express 2019 or later (e. g. Citrix Studio / PVS / License DB instance). The VAMT DB is a quite compact, mostly static database. Running an SQL Express instance for just this matter increases RAM and management overhead, even though SQL Server (Express) 2017 - 2022, can now be directly and automatically patched via WU / WSUS / Azure Update Manager etc.9.6KViews0likes4CommentsLogin from Non Domain Joined Devices with UPN for Network Share not working with Powershell
Hi, we have two Domaincontrollers (2012 R2, 2016 - will be replaced next week with 2x 2022, Domain Level yet 2012, will be 2019), all Users are synced to MS365 via AAD Connect. All of our new clients are AzureJoined only and managed by intune, not directly joined to the local Active Directory. Users are login into their devices via UPN email address removed for privacy reasons. I'm trying to mount some network shares with the users UPN email address removed for privacy reasonswhich are provided by the Domain Controller. Unfortunatly this isnt working somehow, and i don't know why. If i login manually or via powershell with the pre-windows 2000 login def\abc everything is working. anybody here who can help to give my intune managed clients access to the network shares via UPN?654Views0likes0CommentsWindows Server 2022 WDS & OEM License
Hello I've got a problem. I need to clone some PC with Windows 10 OEM license. I've prepared a 2022 WDS Server with a W10Pro image (iso from an MVLSC), the deployment works without problem. BUT I can't activate my Licence because i guess he's looking for an KMS license... Maybe I don't understand something, maybe I do womething wrong. Could you please help me what is really possible with a 2022 WDS Server and an W10Pro OEM ? Thank you very much1.7KViews0likes2Comments
