Hi When I start up Teams on Windows 10 it takes between 20 and 25s for the camera to operate. This is a recent phenomenon which I cannot resolve. It's a Logitech webcam that has worked fine before. I have tested the camera using the Camera app and that works immediately . Any ideas appreciated Thanks8KViews0likes3CommentsMy webcam freezes on other participants end
Hello everyone, This one has been bugging me for a while and I original put it down to using the preview builds of Windows. But I now have clean installed with the Windows 21H1 as of 22/05/2021 and the issue was there from the very first attempt at using Teams. When I start/join a meeting in the desktop app, and we all have our webcams on, I can see everyone else's feed. And I can see my own feed. My feed is clear and the video is continuous on my side. However, my feed freezes every few seconds on everyone else's end resulting in less than ideal visuals on their end. If I swap to using the browser version, my video comes through perfectly clear. My data connection is not constrained with a consistent 50mbps+ download and 15mbps+ upload. I am using ethernet from the PC to the NBN router: Attached are two videos that are recorded to Streams. One from the desktop application, and the other from the browser. The following is what I have tried to do to troubleshoot (roughly in this order): Different USB ports Different web cams (my main webcam is a Logitech Streamcam) Different desktop applications (V-Cam, Logitech Capture) Connect to wireless network Disabled QOS in the Teams admin portal Disabled QOS on my router, Registry hack to enable webcam work around I have not seen this issue in any other video conferencing systems (Zoom, WebEx etc.) Any ideas on where else to look would be greatly appreciated.9.4KViews1like13CommentsWill we get control over webcam settings within TEAMS?
I did check first and I can only find a similar post from 2018, which is quite a while ago and obviously the world has gone down a very different route since then, with "working at home" for most people, and TEAMS is now a much more important to keeping in contact. As a photographer and videographer, I have the knowledge on how to use a professional camera as a webcam, and set up external lighting, to get very good quality and correctly lit video on a call. But that isn't always possible on a work PC as it might require installing software, it's just time consuming to set it all up and get it going, OR regular Joe doesn't have that knowledge or expensive equipment. This is where a webcam comes in. In my case using a Logitech streamcam, which isn't bad. It's more convenient and plug and play, in most cases. But if using a webcam on a work device, you may still need to install software to edit settings. Which is where you would hope that TEAMS might offer a solution, but it doesn't! Will we ever get webcam settings, within TEAMS, to adjust the image quality and lighting? It seems like it wouldn't be that complicated to add in for software which is primarily intended to be used with video broadcasts and webcam calls. It's a fundamental feature. Especially if you want your footage to look professional for clients or just during a team catch up.32KViews1like10CommentsWeird error - camera showing black and white
Hi, I'm having a weird error with MS Teams on Desktop. On my side (with the little preview window), my camera shows in colour and comes through clearly, however everyone else in the call with me sees me in black and white/semi-distorted. I have tested this in other video apps (Discord, WebEx, Facebook Messenger) and they all work fine showing me in colour, but on MS Teams it turns me black and white. I can see this if I turn on 'large gallery' or 'together mode', but otherwise I can't see it. Going into settings to check my camera shows it in colour as well. I'm using a Logitech HD Webcam C270. I have unplugged and replugged the camera in, tried updating drivers (they are up to date), and have re-installed teams. The problem seems to be with MS Teams, not with my camera given it doesn't occur in any other app/program Any thoughts on how to fix this?Solved81KViews10likes71CommentsAUKEY-Webcam does not work in MS Teams on MacOS anymore
Hi all! Since today (without any changes to the system I know of) the webcam on my Mac does not work in Teams anymore. Teams can "see" the webcam (in settings -> devices) but it only shows a black screen in video calls. I use a M1 Mac Mini with the latest OS-softwareupdates. (checked today) I tried the following diagnostic steps: check if Teams is allowed to use the camera (in Systemsettings). It is. check with other devices and operating systems (Win10, Linux on my Laptop) if the webcam is broken. It works there flawlessly. uninstall and reinstall the Teams-App on the Mac. The problem persists. try out other apps on the Mac (Zoom, Facetime). The camera works there. try out the Teams Webclient in Safari. The camera works there. This leads me to the conclusion that the MS-Teams Mac-App somehow stopped liking my webcam over the weekend - and I don´t know how to fix it. Does anybody have a comparable problem or even a solution? Kind regards and thanks 🙂 HaukeSolved8.1KViews3likes12CommentsMac Desktop Client not working with External Webcams
The desktop mac client is no longer reading other webcams other than the default. The web client is still reading my other webcam. After restarting twice and troubleshooting, I am unable to determine why. This was not a problem yesterday and feels like it's due to a recent update. Specifically the EOS webcam utility and CamTwist are not being read.Solved9.1KViews0likes10CommentsWeb Cam is greyscale to everyone when someone is presenting
I am hoping the title will explain enough of the issue that I am having. I am appearing to people on my webcam as the following: I am normal and in colour on my PC and Teams I am normal and in colour to others whenno oneis sharing their screen I am greyscale (With pink outlines) when someoneissharing their screen I have ruled out hardware issue, I have reinstalled drivers and teams several times but not sure what to do next?3.8KViews1like3CommentsWhy aren't video feeds at the top of the screen?
About 90% of webcams are located at the top of monitors, whether the user is using a laptop or desktop monitors. Why was it decided to put user video feeds at the bottom of Teams video calls? During meetings where someone is sharing their screen (which is a majority of meetings I'm in), when I watch other users talking, our video feeds all show us looking down rather than looking up into our webcams. Seeing others' video feeds of them looking back at you is far more engaging and organic feeling than seeing everyone looking down, which feels like they are looking away/not paying attention. That is why Webex puts the video feeds at the top of the window.Solved9.8KViews5likes5Comments
