WAC vMode fails validating SMB
Hi Reviewing vMode and try add a Hyper-V 2025 (non hyperconverged) cluster with a FC SAN. Fails on Validating "SMB port accessibility". Have gone through firewall settings and opened all neccesary ports that i can find mentioned. Even tried without FW turned off without any success so hit the wall now. WAC vMode is installed on a vm running Win2025std and in same domain as the cluster (and hosts) i try to add. Probably some obvious thing i have missed so any suggestions?
No way to import shared connections WAC 2.6.4
hello, reaching out to to see if I am missing anything with the import-wacconnections change in the powershell module. Previous versions i had everything scripted and running smoothly where I could scrape AD for servers and tags and then import as shared connections for other engineers to use. Now, despite being a gateway admin, if I try and import a CSV via the windows admin center gui, I get an error that only personal connections can be imported. if I use powershell, despite providing the generated access token, I get a 403 error. my issued PKI certificate is good, I am a gateway and server admin, I even corrected the errors in the powershell module regarding $credential vs $credentials that copilot spotted Any advice or pointers to push forward?WAC Extension VM Conversion: Pre-checks failed: PowerCLI is not installed
Hi, i have Windows Administration Center Version 2410 Build 2.4.2.1, i try to migrate VMware VMs to Hyper-V using WAC Extension VM Conversion and when i start sync i get this error: Pre-checks failed: PowerCLI is not installed. Please install PowerCLI and try again.. Check the logs for details. (1%) but PowerCLI is already installed with offline installation procedure because no internet connexion available in my environment, i can import vmware.powercli module in powershel but same error in WAC Than you for your help
How to connect from windows admin center to client using winrm with port 2828
Hi all, Due to security issues I need to configure the default port of winrm on windows from 5985 to 2828 and 2829 with https. Hello everyone, I'm having the following problem when creating a 2-node HA cluster (Server 2025) using the Windows Admin Center (Gateway). Up to the point "Validate Cluster" everything worked fine. Unfortunately, the process gets stuck at "1% Gathering data about nodes". However, I can confirm that the cluster report was successfully created on the first node without any errors. Has anyone else seen something similar and, ideally, have a solution for me? I checked the following: Permissions such as CredSSP, Remote Powershell and WinRM are correctly implemented on the WAC gateway and nodes. Manually execute the PowerShell command successfully: Test-Cluster -Node $ServerList -Include "Storage Spaces Direct", "Inventory", "System Configuration"
WAC Azure Extension vs Local Installation - Feature Set checklist
Hi All Is there any article that has a comprehensive side by side of the features that are available via the WAC Extension in Azure (Arc specifically) vs downloading and installing WAC locally I was trying to follow Thomas Mauer's guide to deploy an AKS cluster locally. I wanted to achieve this from Azure, but the AKS blade/option is not present via this extension. Is there a method to connect to the local WAC from Azure, similar to the way the extension is presented? I am aware that I could deploy WAC locally, configure AKS on it, then join that on its own to Azure. I have a Storages Spaces Direct Cluster on Windows Server 2022 and I have Windows Admin Center in a current version (1.4.2212.08003) Seems like, that version some has changed in Volume management with Dedup enabled CSVs. When opening the volume WAC throw an error: Couldn't obtain storage pool information. Error: (1) RemoteException: The specified module 'Microsoft.ReFsDedup.Commands' was not loaded because no valid module file was found in any module directory. (2) RemoteException: The term 'Get-ReFSDedupSchedule' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again. I've googled 'Get-ReFSDedupSchedule' as a cmdlet... There is only 1 refence online, pointing to a Q&A article with no info. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1299662/windows-server-2022-storage-spaces-direct-cluster The powershell module "Microsoft.ReFsDedup.Commands" isn't available within the WAC directories or the windows powershell default directories. Hi All, I am trying to setup Windows Admin Center with a different URL than what the domain name is but am not sure how to go about it. Here is wat I am trying to acheive: Domain name where admin center is deployed = abc.com URL I would like to use to access the WAC = example.xyz.com (This domain has a public cert which I am trying to use for the Admin Center) Any help would be appreciated.
