36 TopicsHow to prevent video from being cropped in a Teams recording?
Recently we recorded a video of a meeting. The meeting was hybrid where 4 of the main presenters were seated in the front of the room. We positioned the camera to have all 4 presenters in view. The output was correctly displayed in the room and on a separate laptop (all 4 presenters could be seen at all times). Upon reviewing the recording, only 1.5 of the presenters were visible, even when one of the other presenters was speaking. It seems that the "Fill frame" feature enabled itself for the recording, despite the person who recorded the meeting verifying that the "Fit to frame" option was selected on his device before recording. Is there a way to prevent videos from being automatically cropped in recordings?2KViews0likes3CommentsTeams Room on Windows fails updating
I have some MTRoW which are failing to update windows. TeamsApp itself is on the newest version (4.19) after using MTRP Provisioning tool. Windows stucks on 19044 or 19045 and doesn't get any newer updates. Any ideas from you what I can do without Reimaging the device (Crestron C100T)? One of my customers ran into an interesting issue recently that I have been able to replicate. I'm curious if others are also experiencing this, and if there's a way to make it work properly. Here's the scenario: A PowerPoint slideshow is shared in a Teams meeting using the "Present in Teams" button from PowerPoint. The slideshow contains an embedded *.webm video that was recorded with Stream (on SharePoint). Participants in the meeting are able to see and hear the video correctly during the meeting. In the Teams meeting recording, the audio and video from the *.webm video does not work... it appears blank on the slide as if no video was played. In some testing with the customer prior to the meeting, the video file playback quality was best when using the "Present in Teams" button instead of a screen share in Teams with computer audio. I had assumed this built-in sharing method would be our best route. We did not realize the meeting would be recorded and did not test that specifically. After the issue occurred, I recorded a new video and created a new PowerPoint slideshow to test this in 3 scenarios... First by sharing the PowerPoint app from the Teams meeting. The Teams meeting recording contained the audio and video properly from the embedded *.webm file that was played. Second, from the Teams meeting, sharing the entire screen including computer audio, the embedded *.webm video again played properly in the meeting recording. Third, when using the "Present in Teams" button from PowerPoint, the *.webm video played correctly during the meeting, but the Teams meeting recording did not contain audio or video from the embedded *.webm video, just like what my customer experienced. I can't tell if this is a known limitation, an issue with Teams meeting recording functionality, or an issue with PowerPoint. If anyone has some insight to share, it would be greatly appreciated! Stream video playback in Teams chats and channels is now inline, meaning that the video plays direct without any need to call the Stream browser client. Itβs a good update that makes watching Stream videos a very seamless experience. It would be nice if Microsoft can improve some other integration points where Stream and Teams touch because some of the other integration features don't work so well. In other news, SharePoint Online is rationalizing how it stores user photos. https://office365itpros.com/2023/07/28/stream-video-playback-teams/1KViews1like0CommentsBest way to play videos properly in a Teams Live Event
Hi - I work in Internal Comms and regularly do company meetings. When I play video in Teams Live Event it often stops and starts / doesn't play out properly. The video is embedded in the PowerPoint doc and I've shared the file to present (as opposed to showing my desktop window). Any ideas? Video playout on Webex seems to be a lot better but most people in my org use Microsoft Thanks Simon636Views0likes0CommentsVideo Preview/thumbnail when sharing videos: where is it?
Sharing internal videos in Teams chat and channels seems to result in nothing more than a link or file appearing (as apposed to a thumbnail or preview). Youtube seems to produce a nice preview but what about internal videos? Say I want colleagues to upload a selfie video direct from their phone. If they share as a file, we get nothing but the file icon (and no view stats). If they share via Stream, it's a little more complicated to upload (although we at least get stats from that) β but still, it just shows as a link. No preview or thumbnail. I know about the Stream tab and how Stream channels can be presented nicely there β but it doesn't solve the issue of videos being shared in the chat. Is there anyway to display videos more visually?3.5KViews0likes1CommentPoly x50 video call - no video.
Hi - wondered if anyone could help. Ive got a call open with Poly (for weeks now) but had no answer to my question. As above if i start a video call on our x50 i see my own video feed in the bottom corner but, in the main screen i just see the other users login avatar (or their initials in the round circle). Ive read that this is Teams deciding theres not enough bandwidth so disables the video but even if we do a test and an internal video call its no different. Has anyone else had this or, even managed to fix it?? Thanks to anyone that takes a punt. Cheers3.8KViews0likes6CommentsOn my new macbook incoming screenshares are very low quality (for me only)
I've been trying to search for an answer but I'm not sure what keywords to use, so let me know if this is a duplicate of other threads or solves on this forum. Recently I was sent a new laptop from work as the keyboard on my 2018 Macbook Pro died. The new one is the M1 2021 Macbook Pro on Monterey 12.2.1. When I fired up teams for a meeting, the quality my incoming screenshares is awful and basically illegible if the sharer doesn't zoom to at least 150%. I seem to be the only person experiencing this on calls. Testing with my co-workers I have discovered the following things: 1. It is only me who experiences this low quality within meetings with multiple people from my work 2. Different computers within my network can get onto the calls and see the screen fine 3. It was fine on my previous work laptop and i had used both on my home network within the same calendar day 4. My down / up speeds were 600/100 mbps during this testing, so it isn't network latency 5. Incoming video / webcam feeds are fine or the same as before, it is only for screenshared content I've tried with the GPU acceleration on and off with no difference, and can't seem to find any other settings within teams I can alter to try and troubleshoot. Are their mac specific settings I should be altering to try and resolve this? Any feedback or assistance would be greatly appreciated.1.7KViews0likes3CommentsRecording chat interactions as part of Teams video recording
Hello, As part of training videos I create, I need to be able to record all chat interactions as part of the Teams video recording. By design all chat interactions are recorded into a text file (chat history). What I need though is to be able to include all chat interactions natively inside the video recording. I need the same for all polls which I run during the training session. Does anyone know if this is supported by Teams at this point or if it has been requested as a new feature?5.7KViews0likes3CommentsHow to record the teams meeting without seeing myself?
Hello, is there a way to record the Teams Meeting without seeing myself on the right hand side of the recording video? I only want to see the presenter and the presentation in this recording. Even I has put myself with no videos but my teams meeting profile picture still appear in it. Please advise! Thank you! π22KViews0likes2Comments
