Deal All, in our company we have some Mac's (Intel and Silicon, older and current MacOS). Since two years, the users are reporting that Teams is automatically updated, unexpectedly and unasked in the middle of a call. As far as I know, the update process of teams works automatically and can't be setup by an admin, intune or anything else. So, has anyone an idea why this happens and how I can solve this for my users? Thanks, Christian867Views1like1CommentUpdate 1.4.00.4855-1 breaks Teams for Linux
I'm on Fedora 33 latest patches and I recently got the 1.4 Teams update. It completely broke my ability to join calls somehow. Anybody else have this issue? A simple rollback to 1.3 fully restored functionality. Whenever I click a meeting link in 1.4 Teams says "unable to join this call." Strangely after update Teams asked me to sign in like I'd never used it before - yet it shows all prior chat history. $ sudo dnf list --showduplicates teams Last metadata expiration check: 0:00:10 ago on Wed 10 Mar 2021 03:12:51 PM GMT. Hi everyone. Today I used the option update inside Microsoft Teams and later I got a message saying teams needs to restart in order to update. After I did that, whenever I try to open Teams, I get a message saying "Teams needs an update", leading me to the Teams download page (Download Microsoft Teams Desktop and Mobile Apps | Microsoft Teams). I've downloaded the latest (at least I thought it was) version from that website, but I end up with the same message after running the Teams_windows_x64.exe file. I also tryied to directly download the known latest version from Teams (https://statics.teams.cdn.office.net/production-windows-x64/1.4.00.22472/Teams_windows_x64.exe) but I end up in the same spot. Does anyone knows what is the current version or how to bypass this error message? Thanks in advance, DavidSolved11KViews0likes1CommentHow to have the Teams client update itself on share devices
How to have the Teams client update itself on share devices? For example, on conference room pcs, user might connect today and then only reconnect 3months afterward, the client would not have updated in those 3 months and might then be too old to even be able to update itself. How do you manage such Teams installs? Thank you in advance and don't hesitate if you have any questions.Solved11KViews0likes12CommentsBSOD 1.4.00.2879
Hi everyone! I work in a big organization using a wide range of hardware. We had BSOD problem when starting a video conference with the version 1.3.00.34662. This issue has been solved in the version 1.4.00.2781 but now with the update 1.4.00.2879 it turns out that the problem it’s still unsolved. It seems to be something related with the graphic driver. The models affected are HP 8000, 8100, 8200, 6300… with Intel HD integrated graphics. We try to update the driver to the newest version but the problem persists. If we try to uninstall the graphic driver and use the Microsoft generic, the problem disappears. By uninstalling the application and installing it again doesn’t work either. The only way is downgrade to the version 1.4.00.2781. Does somebody have the same problem? I would be grateful for your prompt response.Solved4.4KViews1like6CommentsTeams client not updating
A couple of clients within our company are already running with the Teams Version 1.3.00.9267 but on most of the other users (including me) we are still on the Version 1.3.00.8663 and there is no new version regarding the update check within Teams. My user is the only one with release preference: targeted release within the O365 admin portal. Any ideas?Solved82KViews2likes14CommentsTeams Room Console (MTR) - no update. Need Zoom and Webex feature
I have a MTR device from HP and the version 4.2.42.0 which was coming after the first setup from this device last month. I tried the function for Zoom and Webex, but I got the message on my MTR , when I click on a Zoom or Webex Meeting "This isn't a Teams or Skype meeting, Ask the organiser to make this a Team or Skype". So I checked the release page and saw there is a new version since end of march. We have end of april but my Windows 10 IoT doesnt show me any updates and I have still 4.2.42.0 And of course, there is no way to download the MTR exe to update this, or check for updates or something, isnt it? Maybe this is not depening why Zoom and Webex is not available but why I cant update MTR and why it Zoom and Webex not working then? Best6KViews0likes4CommentsTeams Updater Vulnerability
There are reports circulating that the Teams auto-update process suffers from the same unsigned code execution as other application built with Electron. Running the Update.exe processStart with any unsigned application binary will run the unsigned application as signed code through a process chain. The Teams Update.exe is signed by Microsoft so the usual AppLocker and Application Guard defences will not block this exploit. Has anyone got any advice on a work around or information on whether Microsoft are going to plug this exploit?Solved32KViews1like17Comments
