Microsoft plans to deploy an update to change how transcription behaves for Teams meetings where Copilot is enabled. New meetings will not generate a transcript unless the meeting organizer explicitly enables transcription or the Microsoft 365 tenant deploys custom meeting policies that enable transcription with Copilot. The AI features work even without a transcript. But no transcript means no searchable artifact, and that’s what some want. https://office365itpros.com/2025/09/15/transcription-teams-meetings/21Views0likes0CommentsManual transcription through MS teams not working
Hi Team, The meeting policies to enable MS Teams transcription is already ON: However, transcription only works if we choose to enable "auto record and transcribe" when creating a meeting. We are not able to uncheck that and make the Start or Stop transcription to work. We appreciate any inputs. Thank you.230Views0likes0CommentsMeeting Recording and Transcription - CoPilot
A slight rant but I find it really frustrating that the standard meeting transcription and recording settings are influenced by the new(ish) "Allow CoPilot" feature with its settings. They really should be two settings, standard transcript and recording and Allow CoPilot which don't overlap.438Views0likes1CommentIs there an alternate way to download transcriptions?
I have a user that created a transcription during a 4 hour long Team meeting but now receives an error when trying to download it. 1. In Microsoft Teams, clicked Calendar 2. Clicked on the meeting invite 3. Clicked Transcript 4. Clicked Download > Download as .docx (also tried .vtt) 5. Get this error: This issue occurs both for her and the meeting owner. It also occurs whether they use the desktop app or the web version of Teams. This has been occurring for several days for this particular meeting. I have read that transcripts are stored in the user's Exchange Online account; is it possible to retrieve it from there? Or from Teams Admin, or using Powershell, ShareGate, or by any other method?Solved2.6KViews1like1CommentMeeting Transcription Error Message- won't download
Just over a week ago I used the meeting transcript option as the person who usually takes our notes was absent. It was a really important meeting and we made some pretty big decisions, but I can't access the transcript. It's showing in the Teams chat for the meeting, but there are no 3 dots beside it, and when I click on it I'm taken to a new window where it displays the error message. 'Couldn't find that event. Refresh your calendar to try again.' I organised the meeting and set the transcript to go, and I could see that it was working during the meeting. I'm furious as it's a giant pain in the backside and I can't write the notes to back up our decisions! We were given training by our organisation recently about using this for meeting notes which is why I decided to do it - I find it very difficult to participate in the meeting when I have to take written notes myself. I have checked OneDrive and Sharepoint to see if it has saved there to no avail, and our IT dept. don't seem to be able to resolve it.... Screenshot below of what I get when I click on the transcript icon in the chat.Solved3.9KViews0likes3CommentsSaving to OneDrive and Downloading Transcripts
In MC222640 it states the roll out of the save to OneDrive and SharePoint feature switch happens on Jan. 11th 2021 unless action is taken otherwise. In MC220987 it states the new Download Transcription feature in the new Meeting center will not roll out until mid-February. My question is if we switch to saving to ODSP now is there a way to download transcripts from those recordings, or that only available through Stream until the new Transcription features roll out? It would seem odd to lose a feature for a month unless I explicitly act to not roll out a new feature.8KViews1like1Comment
