Edge Collections: Feature request and bug/problem report
Sharing a collection only has 2 options and it's "Send to Excel or Word". it only uses the online Excel/Word regardless of whether or not the users has the Microsoft Excel/Word programs installed on their computers. Addressed Add an option to share collections to OneNote. Addressed add an option to let us Email a collection. Let the collections identify and detect the installed version of Word, Excel, OneNote and preferably use them instead of opening their online versions, which should be the last resort. Collections Don't work with websites that require the user to sign in before seeing the contents. collections only rely on publicly available contents. so for example when using a private group or page on Social media, when using WhatsApp for web, when using Telegram web, using online Forums and thousands more services that require user login, Collections are useless in these situations. the solution is instead of just adding a link of the contents to the collection, copy the actual content to the collection, this way even if the original content on the web gets taken down, deletes or becomes unavailable, the users can still access the saved contents on their collection. When adding/drag&dropping texts to a collection from a rather long page (such as an article in docs.microsoft.com), only the URL of the page where the text was copied from gets added to the collection, Not the exact location of the text. there is No text anchor attached to the text entries in collections. so if i add a paragraph from the middle of a page to my collection, then close that tab and click on the copied text in my collection, it will just reopen that page, it won't show me exactly where the text was copied from, just stays at top of the page. Addressed add a keyboard shortcut for opening the Collections panel. i wish i could launch one of my edge profile (no matter from which edge) directly in the menu bar. so you create a profile launcher.app and then i can search a profile installed on my 4 browser, without need to launch a browser. at the moment we can do similar things once the browser is launched using the dock icon or using the sync icon or using the menu bar option inside edge. but there is still the limit that we can do it for one browser. we cannot search profiles installed on all 4 browser. plus every time you launch the browser, you open the last used profile. so we first need to close and then switch (which requires time). profile switching is slower in edge compared to google. now with this new app you would simply launch a profile inside an edge app, without launching the previous profile.

Music during OOBE in Windows 11
Hello everyone, because Microsoft announced Windows 11, I have an idea for a better user experience. Microsoft could include music during the OOBE (the part of the setup where you can create your user account and connect to the internet) process, something similar to Windows XP. They could remix the theme or create a new one. If you don't want to hear music during OOBE, you could disable it with a button. Suggestion (SS): 40 Classification: DATAHOARDING On Vivaldi i see different people posting other suggestions related to hoarding, so i decided to post here my other suggestions too (part 1 https://link.ws/edgess11), even if i know not all users will use it. I know that such suggestions can be reached (or at least in some parts) via scripts, extensions, terminal or macapps and are not the main focus of browsers. Said that, if you are interested read the post, otherwise skip it. I give you simply ideas, and such ideas are really hoarding focused. I know that this is maybe not legal for all websites too. those are just ideas. First we start with a feature that i never discovered before and after trying it i discovered in opera for mac we need to use option. i tried on edge and is not supported 2) i already talked about overlay button with both integration to mac or to onedrive as destination, or save to different folders in right menu, or drag drop download, or other https://link.ws/edgedatahoarder. another option would be to add a download button below each video and photo, no matter where. 3) about a smart select feature i already reported you before. Implemented on datahoarding activities means select 20 links and download all pdf at the same time (or other files). 4) a feature to detect images, document, movies, pdf in the site and download all that at once, or download only pdf for example. About images, would be better to download the full image, and not small pictures. 5) maybe add both option save to mac and open pdf in tab and maybe using a different destination, so download to /user/blabla/pdf and maybe sorted by source website. in such way we can directly read the paper too, and if needed we can copy that to other clouds directly once you implement the suggestion of importing in onedrive or you can directly integrate an option save to onedrive and to mac at the same time. 6) a way to copy a single link to a list and then copy the whole url in this list (this doesn't mean to use edge collections). once we are done we could use such lists to download files via other web apps, or mac app or terminal 7) a way to submit url to terminal directly, by adding specific terms (example https://www.pair.com/support/kb/paircloud-downloading-files-with-wget/). so we can manually add terms for wget, youtubedl, etc.. once we visit a page, we click right click or on the menu bar and select send to terminal and then we select wget or ytdl, or other. 😎integration of 7 for 6) 9) if i select 10 tabs an option to copy urls and maybe add support for 7) or 4) 10) a way to save such things to favorite without need to use bookmarks. in such way we know exactly where we get such files if someone ask us where we get that. the problem is that files show such metadata, but a lot of times is missing. 11) about 10) the feature of yesterday https://link.ws/edgevvss1 can help too. 12) a way to autorename all downloaded files, example if i use macuser A edge profile B i want on all my files a name like " xxx - macA edgeB" 13) renaming can be used for other goals too, like add the title of the post to the pdf, the url, or other information. 14) smart macos auto tags: we configure specific rules "like from website xx add tag xx" and add tag macA and edgeB too (related to 12.) 15) optionally add comments, but tags are much more useful. 16) like 5) an option to download files by source urls in specific folders. 17) torrent support like coccoc (i already reported that as comment in another post) 18) integrated vpn (same here) I copy the wish of another user here tooSS38: screenshot based warning - color tabs - reload - download status on tabs
Suggestion (SS): 38 Classification: warning - download on tabs PRIORITY IN MY OPINION: 4 on a scale from 1 (low) to 10 (high) Edge devs, i wrote you before via feedback app, but i continue the topic here, so that other chromium based devs can read it too. We talked about reload by domain and why such feature is cool and useful. now a similar suggestion is that you detect all website that has the same identical layout (so screenshot based). if i click via menu bar or right click menu "warn me based on this website" you color all tabs that have the similar layout/design. related to the picture, you warn me if the link has not be saved correctly on all other tabs. now about this website we generally** can see such problems via the icon in the tab, but there are a lot other examples, where we need to check manually, otherwise we batch close not completed websites. **there are still situations where the icon is not a valid method to know if the website (in this case webarchive) completed the task correctly or not. this was another example we talked via feedback app where maybe a better integration between "smart screenshot warning" and "reload tab" should happen. another suggestion related to this is to show me on the tab an icon --> that marks you are downloading files from such tab and once the download is done, you color it in green.SS36: smart social media text expander
Suggestion (SS): 36 Classification: tags PRIORITY IN MY OPINION: 6 on a scale from 1 (low) to 10 (high) i wish i can write %% apple, banana, bear etc %% and edge convert it to #apple #banana #bear same for example with çç apple, banana çç by adding @apple @banana or maybe to integrate something like that is able to do that. would be much faster to write tags, especially for website that don't support easy tag mode like here.
