I have configured the Update Management solution in my OMS workspace. Everything seems to be working fine for most, but not all VMs I manage. When I navigate to the Automation Account > Update Management pane in the Azure portal, the VMs with issues show the following (seemingly conflicted) parameters: Compliance: Compliant (with green checkmark) Update Agent Readiness: Not configured I have checked the Application and Services Logs\Operations Manager Event Logs on the VM, and found 4502 errors but not referencing 'HybridAgent' as the Microsoft technical documentation instructs. No Windows or network based firewalls are blocking the path outbound over port 443, and we receive consistent heartbeats in OMS from the machine. Two questions How is it possible that the solution assesses that the VM is compliant, but also says the "Update Agent Readiness" is not configured? Does this mean Update Management is getting the proper update status from the VM, but it cannot perform any updates if it finds needed updates? What other troubleshooting steps should I take to address the "Not configured" message? Thank you in advance!Solved11KViews0likes7CommentsCan't get my Azure resources to get metrics into Log Analytics
Hi everyone, I'm very excited to join this community! 🙂 I'm regularly using Azure Monitor and I was looking into moving to Log Analytics, but I'm having some troubles. Here's a summary of what I've done so far: Created a Log Analytics resource from my Azure Dashboard Went to "Workspace Data Sources" > "Azure Resources" and tried to enable metrics collection for the App Service and Web App I got there, but it failed (with hindsight, I guess that was because the "Microsoft.Insights" resource provider was not registered in that subscription) Added the AzureWebAppAnalytics to my Log Analytics instance's Solutions and saw that I had to onboard my resources manually with a Powershell script Did the https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/msoms/2017/01/17/enable-azure-resource-metrics-logging-using-powershell/thing - that's where I understood that I had to register the "Microsoft.Insights" resource provider first, so that's what I did and the Powershell script eventually succeeded After that, I also managed to enable metrics collections from the "Workspace Data Sources" > "Azure Resources" section Despite that, and after ~12 hours, there's no data coming in. Log Search shows that the workspace is empty, and the AzureWebAppAnalytics still says "Performing Assessment". Couple of thing I've noticed: The "Microsoft.OperationalInsights" resource provider is stuck in "Registering" state in that subscription; I've tried to re-register it, but it didn't change anything When I went back to the "Workspace Data Sources" > "Azure Resources" section, the log collections I had enabled were disabled again! I don't really know what to try next so your help would be greatly appreciated here, thanks in advance! Thomas8.2KViews0likes3CommentsUpdate Management - Domain Controllers are not assessed

Hi, We use Intune to manage our users' Windows 10 devices. Whilst the old Intune client gave a full Application Inventory, the new Azure Intune MDM only lists "modern" apps for Windows 10 devices. So now I'm trying to get a full Application Inventory per user via OMS (deployed via Intune). If I use the "Upgrade Readiness" Solution in OMS, I can get all applications installed (inventory) for all computers that have not been upgraded to the latest OS target version (in Log Analytics that would be under "Compatibility Assessment --> UAApp"). Unfortunately, the same data doesn't seem to be available for ALL computers. However, it means that OMS can pull / collect the Application Inventory from windows 10 devices. Does anyone know of a way to get an Application Inventory using OMS for ALL Windows 10 devices? Thanks!3.6KViews0likes1CommentVMWare Monitoring Solution Depracated
Does anyone know when this happened? I hadn't gotten to evaluating it yet and in light of this, I’m thinking that I won’t pursue this functionality. 😉 The VMware Monitoring solution has been deprecated. Customers who have already installed the solution can continue to use it, but VMware Monitoring can not be added to any new workspaces. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/log-analytics/log-analytics-vmware?WT.mc_id=email3.3KViews0likes4CommentsHelp me to connect from power bi web to azure log analytics
Hi, I'm trying to connect power BI web portal from log analytics. I read a lot of articles but I did not find a solid solution for this. So I came up with workaround send logs to blob storage and from there using stream analytics job to send power bi web portal datasets. Now I was stuck in sending log analytics query results to blob storage. 1) Can someone help me with this? Is there any direct way to send logs from log analytics to power bi web?. Looking for live streaming data. 2) How can I send log analytics query results to blob storage?. Thanks for your help.Solved3KViews0likes2CommentsApplication Insights vs Azure Web App Analytics
If I have all my Azure web applications set up to use Application Insights, and I have those metrics also integrated into OMS via the Application Insights Connector, is there any added visibility or benefit to also using the Azure Web App Analytics solution? It seems that Application Insights should cover all visibility provided by Azure Web App Analytics plus more. Is this accurate? Thank you.2.2KViews0likes1Comment
