How do I enabled smtp auth for a mailbox in exchange online
Hi All, I am trying to enable SMTP auth for my exchange server. I have followed the instruction given here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/clients-and-mobile-in-exchange-online/authenticated-client-smtp-submission to enable a specific mailbox to have SMTP Auth. But I am still getting a timeout error when I am trying to test the config via smtper.net I also tried writing a simple c# code and test getting the same issue. Here are the config that I used Host: smtp.office365.com port: 587 using secure connection and authentication using the username and password of the user account Please help Thanks Tiklu

Microsoft Delays Retirement of Basic Authentication for SMTP AUTH
Microsoft has delayed the retirement of basic authentication for the SMTP AUTH client submissions protocol to 2027 or beyond. New tenants will be the first to be blocked and Microsoft will disable basic authentication for SMTP AUTH in a way that existing tenants can reenable the protocol. Canon Maxify Printer & Authentication
I recently added Microsoft Authenticator for all our domain email accounts. I have an account that I use for devices and applications to send emails to our domain internally. In each app, I re-tested the account, went into Microsoft Authenticator, approved the request and sent a test email: the apps work! My problem is my Canon Maxify printer. I entered the following information: sender address: user@ domain.com Outgoing mail server SMTP: smtp.office365.com Port Number: 587] Checked on Secure Connection (SSL) Checked on Don't verify certificate For authentication: SMTP authentication But it doesn't work. Do I need to enable a setting in Microsoft Entra and Exchange to get this to work? It is important that the printer send me status messages so I know when there is an issue. I also want to add that the email settings were working until I added the Microsoft Authenticator. Thank you!
