shared folders
3 TopicsShared File with Edit not allowing user to rename, move, or delete
We have a OneDrive (user) account created to share files with many external users. We share at the folder (subfolder(s)) level via email or copied link. After clicking the link the user has access to folders and files, however they can only do 2 things. Edit the file or add files. We want users to be able to rename, move and delete files within these folders. In the SharePoint world users with edit permissions can do these things, but it doesn't appear OneDrive acts the same way. We have the most permissive permissions (anyone) setup for external sharing and by default anyone with a link and edit permissions are the default settings in SharePoint admin center. Does edit just really not mean edit in the SharePoint sense in OneDrive? Is there a workaround to accomplish our end goal?1.6KViews0likes0CommentsGuests cannot download files shared with OneDrive (conditional access policies)
We have enabled 'Allow limited, web-only access' for unmanaged devices in Sharepoint (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/control-access-from-unmanaged-devices?redirectSourcePath=%252farticle%252f5ae550c4-bd20-4257-847b-5c20fb053622). I thought that this setting is linked with conditional access policies but it seems to be applied for all guest users. This setting creates 2 conditional access policies. I changed the user assignments to exclude guests. This doesn't work. Is there an option to exclude guests so they can download shared files to an unmanaged device? We block downloading files from OneDrive and Sharepoint on non hybrid AD joined devices. We only want to do this for internal users. If we share with external users, it is the responsability of the guest to keep de downloaded documents safe.5.8KViews0likes1CommentShared folders missing
I recently upgraded server 2012 essentials to 2016 essentials. I reformatted the SSD for the OS and did a clean install. After everything booted up I turned the server of and then plugged in the 3 hard drives I had running nder 2012. I cannot see or find any of the folders or files even thogh the hgard drive volumes say they are there. This sounds like a permission issue but I need to know how to recover the old file folders as they had irreplaceble pictures and financial dats in them. Any sugfgestions? Sam2KViews0likes0Comments
