The PC Health Check tool showed that my system meets the requirements. However, the Windows 11 Installation Assistant says I need to update to Windows 10 version 2004 or higher before I can upgrade to Windows 11. But when I open Windows Update, the window doesn’t display anything. What should I do to upgrade to Windows 11? I want to keep my software and data, so I don’t want to install from an ISO file.92Views0likes2CommentsWindows 10 22H2 can be rendered unbootable if ''Windows Fax and Scan'' is removed
There is a serious bug in the 32-bit kernel releases (x86) of Windows 10 22H2 (though older versions, such as 21H2 or 21H1 may also be affected; I have not tested). I was doing some test-installs of the latest 22H2 release, using install-media built from the Media Creation Tool. (The version that this tool creates is currently Build 19045.2006). To reproduce this bug, do the following: 1 Install the x86 version of Windows 10 Version 22H2 onto a PC, or inside a VM (e.g. Home or Pro) 2 After the Desktop appears, go to Start > Settings > Apps > Optional Features 3 Click "Windows Fax & Scan" in the list, then the "Uninstall" button 4 After the uninstall is finished, and "Reboot required" appears, restart the PC or VM session 5 During the next boot-up, it will first go to this screen briefly: "Updating your system 0%" But will then go to a blue-screen with this error: Stop code: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED What failed: NTFS.SYS 6 After a reboot, the blue-screen will appear again, then after the next reboot Windows will go to the "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen 7 The only way to repair the Windows install is to use a System Restore point, should one exist I have been able to replicate this issue on ALL x86 kernel installs of Windows 10 22H2 I have tested, but the 64-bit (x64, AMD64) kernel versions are unaffected. I have no ARM devices to test. Needless to say, this should be treated as critical as this is easily reproduceable, and uses only built-in options supplied with Windows, but leaves systems completely unbootable afterwards. Unable to open start menu and settings Windows 11
I am on the beta channel of the Windows Insider Program for Windows 11 update but for the past 2 weeks, I have been facing issues with the start menu and settings. They don't open at all, I tried opening settings with CMD but I get "File system error(-805306367)". I did try reverting back updates using Advanced Startup Options Menu in Windows 11 but got another error. Couldn't find any other way to fix this. Need help ASAP. PS: No shortcuts related to Windows key work except Win+R.10KViews0likes2CommentsSteelseries Merc Keyboard - Extended Keys unwanted new behaviors.
Greetings, Recently got the Windows 10 creators update for my PC. Aside from having to remove and rediscover my Sound Card, I am noticing this little annoying issue. This Keyboard (MERC SteelSeries by Ideazon) has an additional set of keys on the Left-hand side that offer the same functionals as a Gaming Pad Partial Qwerty, Numerpad Space, ETC. I am not getting this to work like it did before. Example Prior to Update the WSAD keys worked as they did in every other game, they were movement keys, there were combos setup IN GAME that would allow me to do other things. Post Update - Pressing the WSAD opens other windows features, most notably pressing the "W" open Microsoft Edge, and pressing the tab key opens Calculator. This has, of course, happened on the weekend when my downtime is most needed. Anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this? My thanks.13KViews1like15CommentsWindows 11: Use best match suggestion when searching in Windows 11 settings
For example, when user types "epn" instead of "vpn", show the VPN settings instead of "Nothing found" the search should be smart enough so a single letter typo won't disrupt it. or "fnt setting" instead of "font setting", Windows should know and suggest "font setting" even if a single letter was omitted from search query. it should be smart. Hello and greetings from Portugal! I'm trying to create a direct shortcut to "View your network properties" (Settings | Network & Internet | Status | View your network properties). Does anyone knows if there any kind of URI address to achieve this? Best Regards, Diogo Sousa1.3KViews0likes2CommentsLet us choose device/PC name during Windows installation
Currently after we install Windows, we have to go to settings and change PC name and then perform another restart. so if Windows would let user choose a custom PC/device name, instead of randomly generating one, it would be more convenient.
