I work at a rather large organization and we just switched to using Microsoft Teams. So far it has been great but what is driving me nuts is the Notification for new messages. I can't find it anywhere to turn this annoying sound off. When you have several coworkers all messaging you, I can't even wear headphones anymore it's gotten so bad. And you can't even turn it off? My options are, "Call, Mention, and Chat" , "All", "Off" How is these not separated? I would like it to be able to ring for calls but I don't need a BEEP every time someone messages me since I already get a banner and a flashing name. Please let me know if I am missing a setting somewhere.Solved233KViews38likes43CommentsCannot hide gallery in "focus on content" or "full screen" mode
Hi There, Previously, when I selected "focus on content" on Teams, the gallery would be hidden. Recently, I reinstalled my laptop and found out that after "focus on content" is select, all the other attendants face would be hidden, but not mine. The following picture shows the screenshot of the Teams. This phenomenon also happens when I use "Full Screen". Someone knows how to solved it? Thanks in advance ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [update 1/28/2022]: A new Team v1.4.00.35564 has been released, and solved this issue. Please update your team.Solved34KViews31likes60CommentsDelay Send Feature on Teams Posts
Would anyone in this forum find it useful to be able to type a message in Teams (either 1:1 chat or a team thread), hit enter, and have that message not sent until the recipient's status is available? Ideally, this would be an option for which we could set a default (either on or off) and then toggle it for an individual message with a keyboard shortcut depending upon the message's urgency. Hopefully, it would be handled at the cloud level (not the local level like in Outlook) so that it is not dependent on the sender's computer being awake when the recipient's status becomes available. There is an idea posted for this in a UserVoice forum, but it does not have many votes yet. https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/18874141-time-delay-post In my own organization, the people I most frequently need to ping spend much time in meetings or on client calls that I would rather not interrupt, but it hinders my productivity too much to keep checking on when they will be available. If I send a message during their meeting anyway, there is too great a chance they will miss it. If anyone else would find this useful, can you please make your voice heard?Solved42KViews27likes28CommentsChange Outlook Calendar Invite to set Teams Status to Do Not Disturb
How can I use my calendar invites in Outlook to automatically change my Teams Status to Do Not Disturb? I schedule out specific tasks in my Outlook calendar so I can plan and manage my day better & I would like my Status to be set to Do Not Disturb in Teams during these periods similarly to this "Focus Time" feature which MS have developed. I do not want to use this generic "Focus Time" term / feature as I like to set time aside to give my attention to a specific thing - it also helps me to remember what I should be working on and when. Any help would be appreciated as I know the "Show As" function within an Outlook Calendar invite you can use this to Change your Teams Status to Away or Busy, but annoyingly.....not Do Not Disturb.... :SSolved73KViews16likes14CommentsBackground effects missing in Teams Web version
Hello, Lat Thursday I have noticed that ALL background effects are missing form the Web version of Teams. That means no background blur or setting up some custom backgrounds. I have also heard that people who were running a custom background when the update went live now can't turn them off, because the whole feature is missing. Are there plans to bring that back? And if so when? There are plenty of people like me who work on Linux machines and for us the only way to actually use a camera blur was to use the web version of Teams. And now even that option is gone. Edit: It's back and working now. Thanks everyone 🙂Solved8.7KViews15likes18CommentsCustom Background In MS Teams
UPDATED It looks like this is in the process of being rolled out or at least actively tested. If you have the version with the option to select a background image, custom images can be added. Save your image /s in the Uploads folder below C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME_HERE\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams\Backgrounds\Uploads Then, in teams while on a call; click the 'More Actions' (Three Dots) at the bottom, select 'Show Background Effects' The pictures you added should show up on the right hand side of the screen with the default options from Microsoft. Good Luck! S686KViews14likes83CommentsReaction's notification in the activity feed
We should not have to go to the activity feed to read the notification of a reaction we read in a conversation in the chat section. It feels like it has to be read twice to remove the notification of that reaction (in the chat section and the activity feed).12KViews13likes7CommentsChanging the default tab of a channel
Hello, is it possible to change the tab, that is initially opened, when you switch the channel to the tasks - tab? I did not find a way to achieve this, but I have a variety of channels in place and would always like to start with the respective task tab of this channel. Regards, Christian60KViews13likes12Comments
