Bug: Selecting Text Causing Other Lines to Render as Random Characters (in Edge v81.0.403.1)
Since updating to Edge v81.0.403.1 (as well as KB4528760 and KB4532938 at the same time in my case), I (and several others) are often encountering a major text rendering issue where nearly whole lines of text end up completely scrambled with seemingly random symbols appearing in place of letters, with different random symbols occurring ever time re-rendering of the text is triggered. You can see the issue in the screenshot below of https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4528760/windows-10-update-kb4528760 (for example, out of the dozens of sites it's occurred on). This issue occurs frequently (up to dozens of times per day), always after selecting text, but not ever time text is selected. This issue has occurred with dozens of different websites, and regardless of whether browsing in InPrivate mode with all extensions disabled. This issue only began occurring around 1/30/2020 after I updated to Edge Chromium Dev v81.0.403.1 (64-bit) and also installed KB4528760 and KB4532938 for Windows 10 Pro 1909 x64 (18363.592) at the same time, and I haven't encountered with any other browsers or Windows apps or UI. This often (but not always) affects nearly a whole line (after word-wrap) of text, often (but not always) in the paragraph following the one where text had been selected. Any action which causes the text to be rendered again – such as Alt-Tab (to a window on top of the browser) and back again, or selecting the affected text (to highlight it), or Win+Shift+S (causing screen to be tinted gray for screenshot selection), etc. – causes different random symbols to appear for the exact same portion of text that was affected. In some cases, deselecting all text will cause the rendering issues to temporarily cease, and in other cases, it just causes the random symbols to change to different random symbols instead. This is an intermittent issue. At times I can reproduce it dozens of times in a row, and other times I can go 20 minutes without being able to reproduce it even when trying intentionally to do so. Refreshing a page can cause this issue to go away temporarily. However, once it starts occurring it seems to occur more often for various pages or every time text is selected on a page. I also reported this issue with steps to reproduce via Send Feedback in Edge Dev, along with my email address. However, as I, unfortunately, have no way to reference that report here or reply to it or know it will be noticed (as can't flag as a bug or critical issue), I'm reporting it here as well. I'd appreciate it if this bug report could be passed along to the development team, especially as others have confirmed this issue here in this forums. I'm reporting the issue here with further details in case it may prove helpful, and also so that it may be easier for others encountering the same issue to find here so don't have to take the time to write up their own details reports regarding it. After, my initial report, I also found others, such as josh_bodner, jbart007 and Heath Bates, in this reply to the Edge v81.0.403.1 release announcement thread. My Configuration Edge Chromium Dev v81.0.403.1 (64-bit) Windows 10 Pro 1909 x64 (18363.592) KB4528760 and KB4532938 just installed at same time as the Edge Dev update For about:flags, I have Disabled #calculate-native-win-occlusion, #web-contents-occlusion and Enabled #edge-autoplay-user-setting-block-option, #dns-over-https, #quiet-notification-prompts. Multiple Edge Dev instances open with different profiles and 3 screens in use. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (Driver 441.66 installed 12/10/19) 32GB RAM Intel i9-9900K. Issues only began after updating Edge Dev and Windows, not any adjustment of flags, drivers or other configuration or browser usage changes. Additional Screenshots of the Issue As seen in these screenshots, this issue results in different random symbols showing each time re-rendering is triggered for text which occurs in close proximity to where different text had been selected. Sometimes different lines end up affected, sometimes the issue temporarily disappears after deselecting text, and sometimes different symbols appear for the exact same portion of text when triggering re-rendering or when changing what, if any, other text is selected.
Bug in selected-text Copy function?
Experiencing strange behaviours in Teams on Mac client. Using 'Copy' / CMD-C / Right click Copy on a selection of text in a message works as expected. However repeating the same within a code block ``` text ``` has strange behaviour. Usually I'm selecting something like a filename from a chunk someone else has pasted, so I select only the filename/path and click Copy. When I paste it, the entire* text block is pasted - not just the what was selected. * However, if the pasted code block contains one or more URLs then these appear to act as delimiters and only the text between the URLs is copied. Suggestion (SS): 40 Classification: DATAHOARDING On Vivaldi i see different people posting other suggestions related to hoarding, so i decided to post here my other suggestions too (part 1 https://link.ws/edgess11), even if i know not all users will use it. I know that such suggestions can be reached (or at least in some parts) via scripts, extensions, terminal or macapps and are not the main focus of browsers. Said that, if you are interested read the post, otherwise skip it. I give you simply ideas, and such ideas are really hoarding focused. I know that this is maybe not legal for all websites too. those are just ideas. First we start with a feature that i never discovered before and after trying it i discovered in opera for mac we need to use option. i tried on edge and is not supported 2) i already talked about overlay button with both integration to mac or to onedrive as destination, or save to different folders in right menu, or drag drop download, or other https://link.ws/edgedatahoarder. another option would be to add a download button below each video and photo, no matter where. 3) about a smart select feature i already reported you before. Implemented on datahoarding activities means select 20 links and download all pdf at the same time (or other files). 4) a feature to detect images, document, movies, pdf in the site and download all that at once, or download only pdf for example. About images, would be better to download the full image, and not small pictures. 5) maybe add both option save to mac and open pdf in tab and maybe using a different destination, so download to /user/blabla/pdf and maybe sorted by source website. in such way we can directly read the paper too, and if needed we can copy that to other clouds directly once you implement the suggestion of importing in onedrive or you can directly integrate an option save to onedrive and to mac at the same time. 6) a way to copy a single link to a list and then copy the whole url in this list (this doesn't mean to use edge collections). once we are done we could use such lists to download files via other web apps, or mac app or terminal 7) a way to submit url to terminal directly, by adding specific terms (example https://www.pair.com/support/kb/paircloud-downloading-files-with-wget/). so we can manually add terms for wget, youtubedl, etc.. once we visit a page, we click right click or on the menu bar and select send to terminal and then we select wget or ytdl, or other. 😎integration of 7 for 6) 9) if i select 10 tabs an option to copy urls and maybe add support for 7) or 4) 10) a way to save such things to favorite without need to use bookmarks. in such way we know exactly where we get such files if someone ask us where we get that. the problem is that files show such metadata, but a lot of times is missing. 11) about 10) the feature of yesterday https://link.ws/edgevvss1 can help too. 12) a way to autorename all downloaded files, example if i use macuser A edge profile B i want on all my files a name like " xxx - macA edgeB" 13) renaming can be used for other goals too, like add the title of the post to the pdf, the url, or other information. 14) smart macos auto tags: we configure specific rules "like from website xx add tag xx" and add tag macA and edgeB too (related to 12.) 15) optionally add comments, but tags are much more useful. 16) like 5) an option to download files by source urls in specific folders. 17) torrent support like coccoc (i already reported that as comment in another post) 18) integrated vpn (same here) I copy the wish of another user here tooNew Feature for Web Capture - Subscroller area selection

Suggestion (SS): 28 Classification: Bookmarks PRIORITY IN MY OPINION: 4 on a scale from 1 (low) to 10 (high) Here my idea i got after visiting a suggestion in vivaldi about add current tab to a folder (which is available for vivaldi and edge). I tested it out and in edge is available, but creates problem, like where you continuosly add it under ddd instead inside ddd. only 1 time you added it in ddd. PS: is not the first time i see problems with other bookmarks, you should check if all functions really work correctly with other bookmarks. Same if i do that you should avoid to show me that for the creation of folders. <<<<<<< second: i tried to select 3 tabs, and then do the same. is not possible. <<<<<<< third: i still think vivaldi add to bookmark option without right click is much better. please consider to implement it to edge too. <<<< because we are talking about vivaldi, here other points i like reload miniature (i suggested this to you only for bookmarks bar) like i suggested you with shortcut for bookmarks and other things (i noticed only after sending you the suggestions, that vivaldi has already such option, but still limited compared to what i told you, which is much more complex) this is similar to what i told you too, but vivaldi show us directly the webpage, is not a second bookmarks bar ability to change default bookmarks bar. (NEW SUGGESTION, but less important, since i use different profile. it still remains cool) same like i wrote you yesterday to remove things from the bar position of new tab, like i suggested you keep last tab open, like i suggested you a lot of option like i suggested you (or better some things are not available in vivaldi too) show me only icons inside bookmarks bar, full name in other bookmarks or when you hide url from bookmarks bar (like suggested). i still think a way to add personal customized folder color to bookmarks is usefull too even if i don't really like to use shortcuts (via keyboard with crtl alt etc., not things like <ddd $dd) ... but i like how they do. trackpad gesture, like suggested is much more clean search always in new tab (NEW SUGGESTION) .... PS: until now i don't use vivaldi, because they create library folders problems. so i just use it as a normal second browser for quick searches. this is why maybe the list of good features is not complete. once devs fix such problem, i can send more vivaldi based suggestion too. i still think main points are now available in this post, a lot is already included in previous submitted suggestions. Here even what i don't like previews different colours for each tab ... other ... (yes, you can disable such things). about the download suggestion, something like where i can set "save to /user/ccc/applications" and then "save this website always in this folder" or "if /externaldrive/... is not available, use /user/ccc/applications instead".
Selection width is greater than page width
Hi: I have created a database, and created a form for easier viewing, however, when I try to print a record (selected record), I keep getting a message saying that the selection is greater than the page width", and I get a blank second page. I have been very careful to set up my page width and collumns in a way that everything will fit on one page. I have viewed it in desgn view and layout view. I cannot find anything that is outside of the margins . In fact, I have tried to ensure that everything is well inside the margins, by a good 1/4" all around. It may be something to do with the background. When I set backround colour to red, I can see that that is all that is appearing on the second page. I have tried setting it to white. But I cannot seem to remove the background. How can I find the fields or items that are causeing this error? Thankssmart selection manager (even with collections support) - right menu
