schedule
7 TopicsBetter way to view employees' schedules?
Howdy, y'all. I've just been hired into a new office, and as the only member of Gen Z to be employed, I've been summarily appointed to the media committee, which includes thinking through the ways that we communicate with one another effectively. The issue that's driving me up a wall at the moment is our calendar management. We have an Excel sheet saved as a tab within one of our Teams channels that lists every employee's status in the office for every day of the year. This is helpful for a couple of reasons: We work in healthcare and must have one person on-call at all times. There are two on-call shifts per day; one from 8 AM to 8 PM, and one from 8 PM to 8 AM. There must be a minimum number of staff people working during regular weekdays (that is, aside from the on-call staffer, we must also be able to see that there are at least a couple people aside from the on-call person who are in the office during a regular week, so that the office isn't completely empty around Christmas and so on). For this, we usually look at the row for the day of the month and the column for the employee's name, with the intersecting cell being filled in with the time of their shift. In addition to the two on-call shifts per day, one person will be designated as "substitute" for one 24-hour period. If either the AM or PM on-call person call out, the substitute will clock in to replace them. Further, there is a staffer who is designated as the support member for an entire week's time. Should the on-call person have questions or concerns, the support member will be able to answer their call at any time during the week. We typically have it color-coded so we know by taking a glance at the day who is on AM, who is on PM, who is substituting, and who is backup. This is an example: Staff A Staff B Staff C Staff D Staff E Staff F Staff G Friday 8/1 8a-8p 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p 8p-8a 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p Saturday 8/2 OFF 8a-8p 8p-8a OFF OFF OFF OFF Sunday 8/3 8p-8a OFF OFF 8a-8p OFF OFF OFF Monday 8/4 OFF 8p-8a 8a-4:30p OFF 8a-8p 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p Tuesday 8/5 8a-8p OFF OFF 8p-8a 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p Wednesday 8/6 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p 8p-8a OFF 8a-8p 8a-4:30p 8a-4:30p KEY: AM on-call PM on-call Substitute Support Obviously, this way of keeping track of things is archaic and has led to chaos. Is there a better way somewhere in Teams/Outlook/SharePoint calendar, or in some other application that can connect to this workspace? We run basically everything in our department out of Teams92Views0likes1CommentDeep link to the scheduling dialog issue - Teams for iOS doesn't add participants to dialog.
Greetings Tech Community ! Please help me to find a solution for the following issue : My organisation is using Teams Room Console systems and recently we have implemented QR codes with https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/concepts/build-and-test/deep-links to the scheduling dialog with the Teams room account- for quick and easy on the go scheduling using mobile versions of MS Teams. At first everything was looking good, but soon we started getting negative feedback from users with iOS devices. When they access the deep link - they are redirected to the scheduling dialog, but the room account is missing from the participants list. Accessing the link from Android devices works just fine (sorry for cyrilic): I have tried both of the following format - with the same results : https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meeting/new?subject=New%20meeting&attendees=Email address removed msteams://https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meeting/new?subject=New%20meeting&attendees=Email address removed At this point I am not sure if it is something I am doing wrong, or it is some kind of Teams for iOS functionality bug. Thank you in advance.1.4KViews0likes2CommentsCalendar with combined channel schedules
Hi, We have a team set up in our office, and different channels to represent different projects. It is working out great when it comes to delegating and breaking up tasks per person and seeing the schedule/calendar for each channel/project. I have like 12 different channels running concurrently, and want to be able to see in a consolidated calendar all the different tasks assigned (and deadlines) for my overarching team. The question is: How can I combine the schedules of all the channels into a single calendar and let the Team be able to see the upcoming tasks/milestone for the various projects? Any insight will be greatly appreciated.Solved5.1KViews2likes6CommentsDay Notes Disappear in Shifts
Hello Everyone, We've been using Shifts for about a year now. We love it. Only issue we've had is with the "Day Notes" section at the top. We use this to list our handful of vehicles and who is scheduled for each vehicle each day. If we save the changes for the current week, all is good. However if we go to the following week or beyond and make changes, they will eventually disappear and all notes are lost. This has happened no matter if we choose share with "your entire team" or "affected team members only." Has anyone else come across this or found a way around it? Is there a better way to go about it? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!1.8KViews1like1CommentShow user's current/next meeting, or calendar from hover card
Here's the use case: I am about to send someone a chat to ask a quick question, but I see they are busy. I want to know how busy they are or when they will be free so I hover on their face/status icon in a hope to see this detail or be able to view schedule/calendar - it's not there! My workaround is to go to outlook and look up the same person's calendar there.1.3KViews1like1CommentScheduled meetings unknown

The teacher has tried to schedule a meeting for her class however when it is time to attend the meeting no one appears, no populations. However when the teacher goes to her teams class she can start a meeting and everyone appears.1.1KViews0likes0CommentsTeams meetings - fortnightly scheduling
Hi All, Does anyone know if it's possible to set up fortnightly meeting schedules in Teams? From the app front end, it is not available, but is it something that is coming, or is there a workaround I can put in place without asking users to manually enter fortnightly meetings in advance?
