Microsoft Edge Version 91.0.831.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) it's a Controlled Feature Rollout Share browsing data with other Windows features When turned on, Microsoft Edge will connect local browsing data from this profile with the rest of Windows. Turning this feature on will help you find information from your history, favorites, top sites and recent tabs more easily using features such as Windows search box. If you turn off this feature Microsoft Edge will remove the data shared with Windows on the device and stop sharing any new browsing data from this profile. Learn more I'm on the latest Windows 10 insider Dev build and latest Edge insider canary, so far I couldn't see any sign of this feature working, it's very new, just added to Edge canary. so eager to find out more about this. I personally would love to see Edge history appear in Windows 10 timeline, just like Edge legacy's did. It's very interesting, I submitted a feedback for the exact same thing 2 months ago.2KViews2likes2CommentsNew feature: Move tabs between different profile windows
This flag has been in Edge canary for some time but it started working since today's update, Edge Version 89.0.711.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) you need to enable this flag: edge://flags/#edge-move-tabs-to-profile-window restart browser and when you right-click on a tab, you will have that option to move tab to a different profile window. of course first you have to have at least a 2nd profile in Edge for this to work. p.s the other profile doesn't need to be open or running. I'm hoping in future we will be able to use drag and drop to move tabs between 2 open Edge profile windows.3.1KViews2likes1Commentoptional suggestion: new menu bar app for mac
i wish i could launch one of my edge profile (no matter from which edge) directly in the menu bar. so you create a profile launcher.app and then i can search a profile installed on my 4 browser, without need to launch a browser. at the moment we can do similar things once the browser is launched using the dock icon or using the sync icon or using the menu bar option inside edge. but there is still the limit that we can do it for one browser. we cannot search profiles installed on all 4 browser. plus every time you launch the browser, you open the last used profile. so we first need to close and then switch (which requires time). profile switching is slower in edge compared to google. now with this new app you would simply launch a profile inside an edge app, without launching the previous profile.4.3KViews2likes10CommentsShow profile name
I use many profiles - current count is 21 - and the profile picture in the top right corner does not really give me the best idea about which profile a window belong to. It would be nice if I could show the profile name next to the profile picture - so it would look something like the InPrivate browsing (where it says "InPrivate"): Update 2020-02-07: When you open an InPrivate browser session, the name could be shown as: "InPrivate: <profile name>" It should be an global option to show or not show profile name.3.5KViews2likes9CommentsPinning Edge on taskbar for each different profile makes some not display the profile name
Hey folks, I use Edge with several profiles as I need to do testing and also keep logged into the same portal as many different users, for example managing different Office 365 tenants. I pin each profile on the taskbar for easy access, and I noticed some of these profiles are not displaying with the profile name, but just as "profile 1" and so on. Renaming them doesn't take effect into the taskbar. Strangely, some profiles I created are displayed with the right name. Is this a bug or done by design?Solved28KViews1like16Comments
