I have been getting random prompts from my W11 PC telling me that in order to synchronise my lists I have to authenticate, but when I click on this to do so, the dialog that pops up has the wrong account displayed (another one of mine that I use for professional work as opposed to my personal account, which is what should be in use) and there is no way for me to tell it that this is the wrong account; I checked my OneDrive settings (since it's an M365 tool) and it is already set to use the correct account. I have established that the executable responsible for this is Microsoft.SharePoint.exe - yes, a desktop executable called SharePoint. It is a Microsoft application and it resides at C:\Program Files\Microsoft OneDrive\23.071.0402.0001, so it would appear that it may be something to do with OneDrive . I have attached a screenshot so you can see what I am talking about. I need a mechanism by which to instruct this login dialog that it is using the wrong account.19KViews0likes4CommentsUser constantly prompted they need to request access to OneDrive shared item
Hello everyone! I have one specific user in my tenant who is unable to access files shared with them by their manager, (or anyone else for that matter.) They will continuously be prompted to request access to the item, which even granting direct access as opposed to sharing the link with them will loop them back to the same page. I took control of the manager's OneDrive directory and direct-shared the file myself to the user with no success and the same SharePoint access prompt. I additionally shared a file of my own for testing purposes, though this leads them back to the same page. All files within their own OneDrive on the app and on the web sync fine, they can also share files with other users---they just are unable to open anything shared with them. If this makes any sense? Has anyone encountered this and if so anyone have any suggestions for a solution? tldr; anyone who shares anything with one particular user they can't open it no matter what. Thanks. -Tristan11KViews0likes5CommentsChange owner of deleted OneDrive profile
Hi Assuming I have NOT setup manager or secondary admin - I have deleted a user from Office356 and the retention period isn't expired. How can I access "configuration" of the OneDrive, and add an Owner of the OneDrive so I can access it and view data? I would have thought that I could find it in the "Manage User Profiles" in SharePoint Admin Center but the user doesn't show up when searching. Regards Lars MortensenSolvedDisable OneDrive Retention Policy for One User Account
We have one OneDrive default retention policy for all staff in M365. We have one user, because of the work they do, has one file that is rewritten many times during the day which creates an incredibly huge version history. I can't delete the version history because of the retention policy. I don't need more than a day or two retention. It looks like I can create an exclusion by going to Admin portal --> Compliance --> Data Lifecycle Mgmt --> Microsoft 365 --> Retention Polices --> I keep clicking Next till I get to "Choose Where to Apply This Policy" then I select OneDrive accounts. Under Included we have "All user accounts". Under Excluded we currently have "None". In order to exclude someone I need "remove all the included ones". In order to include someone it looks like I have to remove all the excluded ones. Clearly I am either misreading this or just not understanding. I need to exclude this one user or be able to delete the many 100's of versions of this one file. Your help is appreciated.6.4KViews0likes6CommentsLocal Sync for Guest with shared OneDrive Link
Hi Community, I'm searching and can't find what I'm looking for. Would be great if one of you could point me in the right direction or give me some guidance. I have shared a OneDrive link with an active guest user and the guest user now wants to sync the files locally. However, the sync button is not visible when the guest user enters the shared page in IE. Guest user is an active microsoft 365 account of a different organisation and has already synced OneDrive pages. Therefore, I guess the mistakes lies on my side. Edit functionalities for external users is active in SharePoint and OneDrive. I have no clue which option I must tick in my admin center. One more point I'm currently struggeling with. I have a shared mailbox which I want to automatically forward to an external e-mail adress. However, each time I send a mail to that mailbox I get back an error e-Mail telling me: Remote Server returned '550 5.7.520 Access denied, Your organization does not allow external forwarding. Please contact your administrator for further assistance. AS(7555)' Maybe both issues have the same source. Thank you for the support. Hi all, I have the need to provide the service desk with a role that allows them to share onedrive with another user (i.e. provides a branch manager with the access to an employee's one drive). From my digging, I understand that only a Global admin or a Sharepoint admin have the permissions to do so. Naturally, I'm unwilling to assign either of roles to our service desk. Does anyone know what permissions would be needed to create a custom role to provide permissions to perform said task? Any help would be appreciated.2.3KViews0likes1CommentDoes setting a password on an excel file encrypt the file? Cannot Autosave
I have an Excel file that will not let me set it to autosave because it wants me to turn off the encryption. I don't know that I ever turned it on. It is a year old file I use occasionally so who knows what I might have done in any particular session of using it - although I am too ignorant to ever do that intentionally. Does setting a password make the file encrypted?2KViews0likes3Commentsuser is unable to share 2.5 TB folders and files
