We have a strange issue with the new Teams client. When the Mic is put up, the headset is actually muting Teams. However, with the new Teams client, if the headset is put Teams crashes sometimes. Teams crashes also reproducible if the mic is put up before joining a conference. Anybody has the same problem or a solution for that? The Evolve Headset is connected via a Jabra 370 USB dongle.Mute colleague in open plan office
Most of the employees in our building are in an open plan office and most of them are having meetings together. The problem for them is that they are hearing their colleague via Teams and also in real life. Is there anything planned to be able to mute a speaker only for your own user and not for all participants? Thanks in advance.Solved1.2KViews8likes1Comment1:1 calls, user is muted as soon as PSTN ringing starts
This only occurs on certain headsets, and started for our users after yesterday's Windows patch went out (10/19/2021). We're on Windows 10. User has Bose headphones; haven't confirmed if they are certified device but they've been working great until yesterday. Now when the user makes a call in Teams via PSTN (we have direct routing), as soon as the call is initiated the user is put on mute. This is a 1:1 phonecall initiated by the user, not joining a meeting where the client mutes you (and notifies you). When the user joins another meeting or makes a 1:1 call to another Teams user, it works fine. It only does this when it interprets that it's a phonecall, and the bluetooth headphones put it in mute. Has anyone else seen this, or know of any controls in the Teams app that can control this? There is no error, it's just a default behavior that I think should be changed, or there's a bug somewhere. The user can only tell because they can see their microphone icon showing it's muted, as soon as the call starts. They have to manually unmute their phone call (that they just initiated) every time they call out to PSTN or anything across Direct Routing link.28KViews4likes56CommentsCarPlay - Mute button on/off glyph ambiguous (can't determine if mute ON or OFF)
Unlike in the mobile, web or desktop Apps in the Teams Apple CarPlay the mute button always uses the same glyph (i.e. mic with stroke through it).. it just make it white or grey.. is white mute or is grey mute 🤷🏾:male_sign:. This makes it nearly impossible to determine conclusively if the mute is on or off. The other platforms change the glyph to a mic with stroke through it for muted to a mic with no stroke through it when unmuted meaning it's easy to tell if you are muted or not. VERY ANNOYING.. I often have to pick up my phone (illegal and dangerous) to see if I'm muted. Never remember if white or grey is muted since don't used in car everyday.1.7KViews2likes0Comments"Same room" during a meeting for muting concept
Given: A couple of attendees sit in the same room When: One in room talk Then: The other person physically in the same room should not hear the person in their headset, because they already hear it physically. There are several solution to solve this problematic which is why, I did not come with a ready solution. I let you find perform the Ux work to find the better one. I add below a couple of idesas which is not to be seen as exhaustiv list of solutions! Some ideas (with +/- reflexion): every user has a "mute this user for me"-button available minus: there is no sharing, and every one must do it for itself ; minus?: I do not know how the audio streams are shared/mixed between the clients, but it could have an impact on the bandwith, because every audio should be streamed separatly (to have the availability to exclude one) plus: every one can do what he want every user can configure a "room" object, which is shared and automatically has impacts on others: plus: one does the job, several have the benefits minus: in a group of 3 persons (or more) in a room if the one in the middle hears physically the 2 others well enought, the right anf left one might not hear themselves well (or one has a active filtering headset or ...) and might wand NOT to mute the user ...Solved12KViews2likes3CommentsMute button is stopped working in Teams with my Poly headset
Hi! I have the following issue: I have received a Platronics Savi 8220 UC series headset a month ago. Still this week its worked properly, without any issue, but from this week I cannot mute myself during a Teams call. If I try to mute myself, its show muted icon for a sec, but immediately change back to unmuted state. And this is not only occur if I press the mute button on the headset, but also if I try to do the same on the screen. The mute button is working in any other application, even in Teams online, only have the issue on Teams desktop app. If I use the laptop default, build in speaker, the issue is gone. So the problem is with the Poly Headset and Teams app. I have tried to update version in Poly, also in Teams, and office365, also updated the drivers, but cannot solved the issue so far.Solved46KViews1like5Comments
