migration
11 TopicsRebind the MS Teams team to a specific SharePoint site
Hello, We've performed a migration of Slack to MS Teams. One of the tasks was to perform the migration of multiple channels to one logical team. The migration process was completed successfully. However, after migration, we discovered that it is not possible to attach files to one channel in the team (later we found more than one such channel). The fix was to open the tab "Files" in Teams, then the user was allowed to upload (attach) files. During the troubleshooting, we found that while the migration process is in progress, and there's a need to upload files (found in Slack), an associated SharePoint site is created. In our case, the SharePoint site with the same name (as the team name itself) was created early (probably during our migration tests/dry runs and wasn't deleted properly) which led to the creation of a SharePoint site with a different naming (as two SharePoint sites with the same naming couldn't exist) during the real migration. (examples: team name = prj-team existing (early created) ShP site = https://domain.sharepoint.com/sites/prj-team newly created ShP site (bound to an MS Teams team) = https://domain.sharepoint.com/sites/prj-team956 ) This implies a lot of inconvenience for the users and we're looking the way to resolve/mitigate it. We cannot destroy all teams and channels and restart the migration. The question here - can a team in MS Teams be updated to be bound to another SharePoint site? Thanks in advance.433Views0likes1CommentTeams dial pad missing due to RegistarPool Attribute
Not a question but thought this should share in the community with my blog post and recent finding. Most common issues after moving/migrating users to Teams from SfB were few, Teams license assigned or assigned license change not replicate on time or delay. License was Phone System since this was Direct Routing work. is enable for Enterprise voice. Whether the user assigned a Voice Routing Policy. Whether the user assigned a Teams Calling Policy. Registar Pool missing/ empty. I found this new experience and read full article - Teams dial pad missing due to Registar Pool Attribute I got help from my old friend (MS Premier support) to do the replication in Backend @Muninder PS Thanks Reach out to me on Madushka Dias (@madushka) / Twitter or https://www.linkedin.com/in/madushkadias/.2KViews1like1CommentTeams Users Migration from onmicrosoft.com to domain.com ( Same tennant )
we are in the process of migrating from on premise to O365. Our previous infrastructure utilised on premise exchange and onmicrosoft.com licenced teams accounts for our telephony. We have since migrated on premise exchange to Office 365, so now we have dual credentials on our machines. Outlook > ourdomain Teams> onmicrosoft We would like to now migrate completely to ourdomain .com. How would we go about this seamlessly to ensure no conversation history loss, and to maintain all current channels and groups. We have in our Active users lists. our domain > Exchange Licence onmicrosoft domain > Teams Licence We want to consolidate this and licences to the @domain account and maintain all current data ( Conversations history, Chanel, Groups so that it seamless to the user ( IE log out of Teams @onmicrosoft account, log into teams with domain account ) everything looks and works the same Appreciate any direction with this.1.2KViews0likes1CommentSome channels in a migrated Team not visible
This may be a long shot but has anyone come across where a channel in a team does not show in Teams client. We are using ShareGate for teams migration from one tenant to another. For some of our migrated Teams, one of the channels does not appear in Teams client. We can see the channel within Teams admin center in destination tenant but channel simply does not appear in either Teams web app or desktop app.2KViews1like2CommentsM365 tenant to tenant migration - Users membership to external teams
For a M365 tenant to tenant migration where the domain is also being migrated, what will happen to users membership of external Teams where the user is a guest member. E.g., Sarah@contoso.com from Contoso is a member of a team from tenant Tailspin. Contoso tenant is migrated to Fabrikam including the Contoso domain which means Sarah's username and email is still the same. Will Sarah continue to be a member of Tailspin or will she need to be re-invited.1.3KViews0likes2CommentsDelay between moving / creating users in Teams Tenant and when they can start using their phone
Hello everyone. I have a question regarding delays. I am moving my Skype users to Teams (and also creating new users) and I'm faced with two issues. I'm unsure if these issues are unique to me or it's a global thing. 1) When I create the user it seems that there is a huge (I mean almost 2 day) delay before the phone number is usable. Both internally (Teams to Teams) and externally (calling my extension from my cell phone) I think it's a delay because the latter seems to work for certain people but not others. Some people can call my extension and it arrives as a call and others simply get the message "I cannot find this user in the directory" 2) When I either migrate or create a new user it sometimes can take up to 1 week before I see my number pad in Teams. It eventually arrives, but I think it's abnormal. Is there something I can do to speed this up? Is it a Microsoft issue? Is it an issue where I am not putting it the correct commands to properly push propagation? Thanks!2.5KViews0likes5CommentsTenant Migration and Microsoft Chat Old Threads/Files
My company recently migrated from one tenant to another. Unfortunately I am not able to open old chat threads/files since before the migration. When I search I can see that the thread exists but when I click on the thread in question, I can't open it to view the entire thread. I'm on a Mac too. I have deleted my Microsoft Teams cache and uninstalled and reinstalled the Microsoft Team's app. But still nothing. All I can see is a preview of what I need to get to and that's it. How can I get to these old threads? To me it seems like they should be available but so far I don't have a solution to this problem. Thank you.1.2KViews0likes2CommentsMigration Teamwork to Microsoft Teams
