I cannot see my printer on the remote desktop I connect to. The Printer redirection setting is enabled in the Windows app, and it worked with the same settings under an older iMac running Monterey. After upgrading to a MacBook Air M1, I can no longer see my printer when connecting to a Windows Server 2012 R2 system. Environment: Local Device: MacBook Air M1 running macOS 15.3.1 Remote Desktop Client: Windows App (11.1.2) from the Mac App Store Printer: EPSON L6290 with latest drivers and firmware Remote Server: Windows Server 2012 R2 Troubleshooting Performed: Confirmed printer redirection is enabled in the Windows app settings Verified that the printer works correctly with macOS Tested connecting to a Windows 11 laptop instead of the server, and printer redirection worked properly Previously used the same Windows Server 2012 R2 with an older iMac running Monterey and printer redirection worked correctly Downloaded an older version of the Windows App (older than v10.9.4) and was able to see the printer on Remote Desktop, but could not print (possibly due to Apple removed PSNormalizer in the Sonoma update) After some research on this issue, I discovered a Microsoft Learn post stating that printing from Remote Desktop broke after updating to macOS Sonoma (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1379185/local-printer-redirection-to-remote-desktop-(for-m). According to the thread, the problem was supposedly fixed in Windows App v10.9.4 (2160). Based on my testing, this fix appears to be partial: Printer redirection works perfectly when connecting from my MacBook Air M1 to my old laptop running Windows 11 with remote desktop enabled but not working when connecting to a Windows Server 2012 R2 Could this be a specific issue with Windows Server 2012 R2 that wasn't fully addressed in the v10.9.4 fix? Are there any workarounds available for this specific scenario with Windows Server 2012 R2, will there be fix/patch for the WIndows app? This is very important for me because of my job, and I hope this issue can be fixed with an app update, as our company probably won't update the server because of this.1.1KViews0likes3CommentsCopy and paste isn't working in Windows App Beta11.0.5
OS: macOS Sequoia App: Windows App Beta Version 11.0.5 (2401) Support ID: 37F4A119-01BE-4004-9DF1-EC683B0241C9 I can't use the copy-paste buffer to bring text or files into my remote machine or out of my remote machine. This works well when connected to my remote machine using the old Remote Desktop app in macOS.Windows App drops connection with 407 Encryption error
This has been a recurring problem since updating to macOS 15.0.1. Running Windows App to connect to a Windows 11 laptop on the same local network I'm seeing repeated connection drops with the same popup: "Your session was disconnected - Your session ended because of a data encryption error. If this keeps happening, contact your network administrator for assistance. Error code: 0x407. This is continuing with the latest Windows App update (11.0.5 Build 2401). It also happens with the release level of Windows App. This makes Windows App barely usable since connections are constantly being dropped every few minutes.881Views10likes5CommentsMicrosoft Teams Call on Azure VDI with no Audio selected for the call still come out speakers on MAC
I join a MS Teams call with no audio option as I want to join audio from my phone but then on MAC Microsoft App client I can still hear the audio coming out my local Mac speakers. This then required I completely lower my mac volume level which then causes other problems.86Views0likes0CommentsCMD+W no longer closes session, but window within remote session
This bug applies to Version 11.0.5 (2398) ("Windows App Beta" for Mac): The shortcut "CMD+W" was previously used to close a session. But since the last update (today), the shortcut closes windows within the remote session. It's well possible that this is by design, but now there is no shortcut to quickly close a session. I did prefer, when CTRL+W was the shortcut for closing windows within the r90Views0likes3CommentsPrint with Remote Desktop (Windows app) page orientation on Mac OS
With Windows App Version 11.0.5 (and previous version) on Mac OS, when you ask to print in landscape on a shared local printer, the page is printed in portrait. Test done on several printers of different brands and models.144Views0likes1Comment
