I absolutely hate this new right-click menu when I am on File Explorer. I cannot directly click "Refresh" but have to click 'Show more' and then only click "Refresh". WTH was Microsoft thinking when deciding that. I shouldn't be the only one who is getting annoyed with this.43KViews7likes19CommentsFile Explorer Quick Access Permissions Error
I am an administrator on my PC (Dell XPS 8940) running Windows 11 22H2 Build 22621.525 Beta insider build. When I try to pin or unpin anything to my File Explorer Quick Access in the Navigation pane I get the following error: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." I have checked all the permissions I can think of and mine is set to "Full Control". If I log onto another Admin account everything works fine. I have searched the internet but cannot seem to find anything related (except check your permissions are set correctly). I ran an update from the latest Windows 11 22H2 ISO file and it had no effect. I really do not want to reset my Windows as I have a lot of customization and applications.999Views0likes0CommentsWindows 11 File Explorer controls are potentially unclear to older users
I work with many older clients over the age of 70 and several tell me they do not "read" icons very well, and prefer to look for text on screen to help them remember what the "different buttons do." The optional large ribbon of toolbar buttons in Windows 10 File Explorer made things extremely clear, with large buttons and icons with clear text explaining the common functions of copying, pasting, moving, renaming, sharing or deleting items. I personally like the minimal design of Windows 11, and it is great that the design follows through all apps, so that the icons are the same, but I would really like to see a few more text labels. I attach a suggested improvement for File Explorer:3KViews0likes5Comments
