Use Out of Office without sending email
We are using Out of Office, especially for users who are working parttime. The integration within the Office products are great for displaying the availability of the user, e.g. when writing an email message. Therefor, the email notification sent by Outlook/Exchange is unnecessary and even considered internal spam. Is it possible to turn off the emails or to prevent sending them?Solved181KViews0likes2CommentsAdvanced Threat Protection (ATP) is ruining Outlook.com
About a week ago, I noticed that all URLs were suddenly extremely long/obscure, and beginning with something like: https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url= It destroys the URL visibility experience. I quickly realized that this was an Office 365 (E5) feature called https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/exchange-online-advanced-threat-protection-service-description.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396, but I'm not talking about Office 365 here but rather the consumer Outlook.com site. I need to find out if we're going to be able to disable this, and when. It's unbelievable that MS just foisted it on us, since it's not even in the vast majority of Office 365 plans! I realize that some people have been seeing it longer than one week.150KViews14likes74CommentsOutlook Error: The message can't be sent right now. Please try again later

In Outlook desktop I can use the Categories (colours and descriptions) and I can create "Smart Folders" that grouped messages for category. In OWA I can assign a category, I can manage the categories, BUT I can't find how I can see messages grouped for categories. Someone can explain me? Hi all, I have a user that has two distinct Exchange Online accounts. We configured both in one Outlook profile. The setup runs through without any issues. However, when we open Outlook, he only sees the primary mailbox. Both mailboxes are in different Office 365 tenants. I have tested it on other systems and they work fine and are both listed with their respective folders. When I look through the Outlook 2016 Connection Status tool, both accounts are connected. Also, when we go into the folder list view, he can browse the public folders of the mailbox that is not listed. Any ideas what it can be? I have re-created the profile numerous times. Thanks for your help, Mike7.8KViews0likes2CommentsFrom-name not working when sending E-mail from Outlook UWP app.
The Outlook Mail app for Windows 10 Mobile (and Windows 10 Mail, the pre-installed Mail app on the PC version of Windows 10) all suffers from the same bug. The app doesn’t honor the “Send your messages using this name” setting. Instead it sends mail with just the email address as the sender. (The recipient doesn’t see “Firstname Lastname” when receiving mail sent from the Outlook app. Instead they just see mailto:email@domain.com.) I’ve verified that the problem occurs on IMAP accounts, including Gmail, as well as some Exchange Activesync accounts. Email accounts from Microsoft seems to work fine however (i.e. @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com). As a result, some emails get lost due to being blocked, while some are registered as spam and are being moved to the recipient’s spam folder. What’s worse no one seems to be doing anything to fix this. The bug has been in place since summer. The app has been updated countless times since then but still no fix in order. In fact, no one seems to even acknowledge that there is something wrong. I know this is probably not the right forum for this, but it is my last resort. Before posting this here I’ve tried to contact the Outlook support via chat, hoping they could escalate it up to the devs, but the support technician didn’t understand me and wanted me to contact the German company B2X which has recently been appointed to handle Windows mobile customer support. (Even though this affects the PC version of the app too.) I’ve also tried posting this in the Outlook Uservoice, but the moderator deleted it. (My (now deleted) Uservoice suggestion/bug report: https://outlook.uservoice.com/forums/322590-outlook-2016-for-windows/suggestions/17939938-fix-send-your-messages-using-this-name-bug ) I’ve compiled a list of bug reports from other users. Both from answers.microsoft.com and from the Windows 10 Feedback Hub. (This bug is affecting far more people than the number of bug reports indicate though. When I asked around about this on the Swedish Windows Phone Facebook group, it turned out everyone using IMAP had the bug. (They just hadn’t noticed it until I asked them to check.) Microsoft has just added new functionality to Outlook For MAC users. The feature we look at here is the new template function which has been one of the most wanted features from the user voice. Ant Text (http://www.anttext.com/) takes the template functionality for Outlook For MAC users one step further. You can add your own template structure, share templates with your organization, use template top banners and use templates even when you are on your mobile or tablet. Okay, I originally thought this bug only affected the Outlook Mail app on Windows 10 Mobile. As I've continued to research this and speak to other users I've concluded that the bug has nothing to do with Outlook at all, but rather the touch keyboard in Windows 10 (both PC and Mobile). With that said, this is posted in the completely wrong forum. I will keep the post here if it's okay with moderators though, since my Feedback Hub post is linking to this URL. What I have surmised so far is this: the bug affects Scandinavian touch keyboards (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish) in conjunction with Word Mobile, Word Online and the Outlook/Windows 10 Mail UWP. (It might affect more keyboards. Don't have the time to test them all. Have however tried with French, Italian, English US and Englisk UK, and none of those are affected.) The @ symbol on these keyboards has somehow stopped working as intended. (I.e. it doesn't print out a @.) When using your touch keyboard on either a Windows 10 Mobile device or a Windows 10 pc/tablet, the @ sends a command to change the style of the text from "Normal" to "Heading 2". My original post is still below. What happens in the video at the bottom is the same result I've been able to reproduce when trying the other scandinavian languages, and when testing the touch keyboard on my Surface Pro with Word Mobile, Word Online and Windows 10 Mail. Original post with original edits: Edit: I've tested with Danish keyboard too. The bug is present there too. So this is not only affecting the Swedish keyboard. Edit 2: This bug is affecting not only Outlook, but Word Mobile as well. Edit 3: After more research I've found that this bug not only affects Windows 10 Mobile, but also the PC version. I've reproduced the bug in both Windows 10 Mail and Word Mobile on my Surface Pro tablet. The bug only occurs when using the on screen keyboard (touch keyboard), not while using a physical keyboard. While using the Swedish keyboard for writing an email in the Outlook Mail app on Windows 10 Mobile the "at-symbol" doesn't work as intended. Instead of outputting a simple "@" it changes the formatting of the text in the mail to "Header 2". English keyboard works fine. I am unable to attach/send a file from my OneDrive for Business site using the Outlook for iOS app. The file type does not matter, I have tested with docx and xlsx. I receive the error message shown below and the message goes to my drafts folder. For some of the files I do not even get the attach option, insert OneDrive for Business Link is the only option. Inserting a link to the file works without issue. I can open the OneDrive app on my iOS device and choose send file, copy to Outlook and the file will send without issue. Our MDM application is not set to restrict this behavior. Any ideas why the attachment fails from Outlook for iOS? iOS v 11.0.2 Outlook v 2.46.0Solved4.1KViews1like1Comment
