7 TopicsMicrosoft Teams meetings, and location of the chats
Hi, I thought to test the eDiscovery for Microsoft Teams and one thing to figure out is the meeting chat. Where they are stored? One to One chats and Team chats are in your mailbox. But when having a meeting, or basic chat with multiple persons, there is no Group neither Group's mailbox behind. And is it really possible to use eDiscovery for individual meeting itself?13KViews0likes2CommentsPreventing Teams private messages from eDiscovery
Of course I'm aware that Teams private messages are stored and are searchable with an eDiscovery search. Our problem is that our CEO doesn't want this, and he refuses to use Teams for this very reason. He wants his private messages to be just that - private. As long as a global admin can run an eDiscovery search, even if doing so is logged and audited, he won't use Teams. Is there any way to make Teams messages ACTUALLY private and keep them outside of the scope of what an eDiscovery search can find? I'm the 365 admin for our company and personally I feel the same way. People's private chats should be private. Yes, of course, it's a business account, so everyone should conduct themselves professionally, etc. But regardless, we'd like to be able to setup our Teams so that anything said in a private message is untraceable. Can this be done?2.1KViews1like4CommentsHow does the shadow mailbox used for Team chat eDiscovery get deleted
In a scenario where Exchange on premise is used for users mailboxes and they have enabled the shadow mailboxes for Teams eDiscovery what happens when a user's on premise mailbox is deleted. I assume the change is synced to Azure AD and the user's online Shadow mailbox in Microsoft 365 is also deleted. However I can't find any reference to the process to check if my assumptions are correct.7.2KViews0likes1CommentDoes the shadow mailbox created for eDiscovery of Teams get provisioned in a users PDL?
If a client has Multi-Geo with Exchange online then a user's mailboxes is automatically located in the user's Preferred Data Location (PDL). If a user changes their PDL then the mailbox is automatically migrated to the new PDL. If a client has Multi-geo with Exchange On prem and Microsoft have enabled the shadow online mailboxes for Teams eDiscovery will the shadow mailboxes also follow the same rules. Therefore be created in the user's Preferred Data Location (PDL) and if the user's PDL moves the shadow mailbox will be migrated to the new PDL.2.6KViews0likes3CommentseDiscovery of chat messages when Exchange is on-prem
Reading here : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/exchange-teams-interact Looks like eDiscovery is available for channel messages when exchange is on prem (customer does not have hybrid) However it is not clear if chat messages are included too in this topology. Anyone know the answer?3.4KViews0likes2CommentsDriving Employee Engagement and Empowering Firstline Workers with Microsoft Teams

Hi. Am trying to find out the best way to use SCC eDiscovery (E3) to discover files that were shared in chat. My understanding is that you can't identify the version of the file that was shared. This is a pain, but am also struggling to identify even how to export all versions of the file that was shared in Teams chat. Anyone have any ideas please. Thanks @ediscovery1.2KViews0likes0Comments
