Crash when submitting web page input fields with soft keyboard Enter
### Summary Microsoft Edge Canary for Android crashes when submitting web page input fields using the Android soft keyboard Enter key. GitHub search is one stable reproduction case, but this is not GitHub-specific. I have also reproduced similar crashes on other websites with text input/search fields. ### Environment - App: Microsoft Edge Canary for Android - Package: `com.microsoft.emmx.canary` - Version: `152.0.4142.0` - Version code: `414200023` - Device: vivo V2417A - Android SDK: 36 - ABI: arm64-v8a ### Reproduction case 1. Open Microsoft Edge Canary on Android. 2. Navigate to `https://github.com/`. 3. Tap the GitHub search box. 4. Type any text. 5. Press Enter on the Android soft keyboard. ### Expected behavior The input/search action should be submitted normally. ### Actual behavior Edge Canary crashes immediately after pressing Enter. ### Scope This does not appear to be specific to GitHub. The same type of crash can also be triggered on other websites when submitting text input/search fields using the Android soft keyboard Enter key. GitHub is used here as a minimal stable repro because it is easy to test. ### Crash information Exception: ```text java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index 24 out of bounds for length 0 ``` Relevant stack trace: ```text java.util.ArrayList.get(ArrayList.java:434) android.view.ViewGroup.getAndVerifyPreorderedView(ViewGroup.java:3873) android.view.ViewGroup.gatherTransparentRegion(ViewGroup.java:7438) android.view.ViewRootImpl.performTraversals(ViewRootImpl.java:5207) android.view.Choreographer.doFrame(...) ``` ### Notes - Reproduced directly on the Android phone. - Trigger appears related to submitting web page input/search fields via the Android soft keyboard Enter key.
Edge browser crashes after file download / open
Hello, I am using Edge browser Version 142.0.3595.80 (Official build) (64-bit), on Linux. When downloading a file , and trying to open the downloaded file from wihin browser, it causes edge browser instances to close. I have been using other browsers to get around the problem. Is this a known problem, and are there a solution to this problem? Thanks, Jay
Edge Dev (latest version) crashes when autofill tries to open
Hey there, Yesterday i spoke with a guy from Microsoft's Support (the official one ofcourse) for like.. 4 hours... trying to resolve my Microsoft Edge crashing and the autofill on several websites (including microsoft.com itself) to not function, like.. it pops up but i can't press any of the saved items. Does anyone.. have a clue at all? The Support person already tried reinstalling, clearing cookies, cache, extensions etc etc.. it's just not working. I'm honestly clueless.Specific workspace crashes Edge (only 14 tabs)
One specific workspace refuses to open up successfully. Instead, it crashes my whole Edge (Dev). I've tried almost every tip out there - disabling all extensions, repairing Edge, restarting Edge and laptop. Also tried in stable and Canary builds. Anyone any ideas on how I might recover the workspace or at least see the tabs I had saved in there so I can recreate it? UPDATE: have just managed to open the workspace in BETA channel (again, crashes in DEV and Canary although DEV has been fine with this workspace until now or at least the last week or so when I must have when I must have last opened it). Version 90.0.789.1 (Official build) dev (64-bit) Edge immediately crashes when pressing Windows + . (when opening emoji panel). I have sent feedback. Is anyone experiencing this too? I'm reporting a problem I've experienced with Edge since I began using it six months ago. After using Edge for a few hours, it will begin using 100% CPU. According to the Task Manager, it is the "Browser" thread that is using this CPU. If I Quit the application, all the windows close but it doesn't fully quit; I have to do command-option-esc to open the Force Quit window (where it says "Microsoft Edge (not responding)" and then I'm able to Force Quit it. When I relaunch it and re-open the web pages I was using, it works fine (until later that day or the next day, when the process repeats). Does anyone know how I can troubleshoot this so I can file a useful bug report? This has happened many times over the past 6 months, over many different Edge versions (I'm always using the latest stable version). I'm not able to reproduce the issue when I want, but it happens regularly every or every-other day. I'm using macOS Mojave 10.14.6 on a 2015 MacBook Pro.
