Update licence seems to not activate Copilot.. gettign redirected to FAQ url
Good day I have updated the licence on my Copilot 365 several times to make sure i restarted the apps and even the machine... I can see Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel and the Copilot icon. But still everytime i click the copilot365 icon from within a 365 app Iget redirected to when clicking copilot within an office ai always get redirected tohttps://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2242508. i am not a admin on my machine so i suspect it might be it? I am a PhD student at a Chilean university and I have free access to Office through this account. However, I cannot subscribe to Copilot Pro with this account because the option simply does not appear. Additionally, I am not sure what happens if I subscribe with a personal email. I imagine that Office and Copilot Pro must be on the same account to use Copilot integrated into Office apps, although I am not sure, so I would appreciate it if you could clarify this point. Besides this, I would like to know if there are any discounts for students on Copilot Pro. Thank you in advance for your help. Copilot not creating new documents
Hi I'm hoping someone can help. My company has just invested in Copilot for my team on my request and some of the functions it purports to have don't seem to work. When I ask it to create new word documents from a template, it tells me it is generating the documents but never actually does. Similarly, when I ask it to copy information from a word document and paste it into a spreadsheet, it tells me it has done it but hasn't. Has anyone else experienced this or know a fix for it? If it can't actually do this and create one document based on another document then its usefulness to me is vastly reduced. ThanksCopilot use in Excel formulas
Hello, does anyone know when Microsoft plans to make it possible to use Copilot in Excel formulas, e.g. with the GPTforExcel tool? =copilot(summarize; A1) Would it be obvious to use it in-house? Or does anyone have a good walkaround e.g. with PowerPlatforms? Or do you have other solutions? Thank you
Capabilities of Copilot in Web Browser vs. in Excel
Hello, I have noticed differences of Copilot capabilities of M365 Copilot in web browser vs. in Excel itself. For example, I want to count the number of lines in Excel file based on some parameters. When I put the prompt "Count the number of rows that have 'VTT' in column 'Product'." into Excel Copilot, it counts the correct number of rows. When I put the same prompt, just starting with "In file /Sample_data.xlsx" into M365 Copilot in Teams or in the web browser, it returns incorrect count every time. The same happens when I upload the file directly to the Copilot window and not link it to Onedrive. Mostly less (correct is 202 and Copilot returns 64 or so). I suspect it cannot access the entire document. I have tried many similar simple tests with other prompts and it is often the same result - in Excel good, elsewhere bad. Why does this happen? Is it because the file is indexed only partially in some sort of index and web Copilot draws from that and cannot see the data itself? How can I allow the Teams/web Copilot to access the data so the results are correct? I don't want to open Excel everytime to use the data inside. Thank you very much!! PS: When I test the same prompts with ChatGPT 4o mini, it responds correctly every time, so the data is AI-readable.Such a disappointment
One of my team members recently left, and with a critical meeting coming up next week, I had to step into the role quickly. I thought MS Copilot could assist with updating Excel and PowerPoint, but it turned out to be a mistake. I asked Copilot to replace all instances of "2024" with "2025," but it replied that it couldn’t perform the task. Next, I requested it to analyze a pivot table to identify which rows were subtotals and apply the same formula to other columns in the sheet. Instead, it suggested irrelevant adjustments to unrelated columns. I expected these tasks to be straightforward for MS software, but Copilot struggled with them. Honestly, it feels less efficient than a simple "Ctrl+F" and "Replace All."
Predictive analytics
Hello has anyone encountered challenges when trying to create predictive analytics prompts for Copilot in Excel, where Copilot responds that it can't predict the future? If you've had success with this, could you please share sample prompts and Excel files you've used to get valuable predictions?
Creo que Copilot debería tener algun tipo de API.
Creo que Copilot debería de tener algún tipo de API que permita la integración de terceros para poder darle instrucciones de forma automática. Esto sería un gran avance para las empresas, ya que aceleraría muchos procesos. ¿Se imaginan que le puedas dar instrucciones por medio de un robot y esta haga trabajos que como de Excel tal cual como el robot se lo pida? Esto ahorraría un montón de tiempo y si ahorra tiempo eso es ganancia y si es ganancia de tiempo, es ganancia de dinero para todos. ¡Saludos! 🤗
