class notebook
16 TopicsGuest access as 'teachers' in Teams
Here is the situation: I work in a school music department and I am in charge of a team of visiting music teachers. They are self employed and as a result they do not have school email addresses or access to the school IT systems i.e. Teams, Onedrive etc. I would like to create a Class Notebook to keep track of individual students. I know I can create a Team and invite guests and set this up as a staff notebook. Each music teacher would have their own section and they would have access to the collaboration space etc, but this would be staff only. Ideally, I would like each teacher to have access to a class notebook for their pupils. For practicalities, courtesy and data protection, I do not want one teacher to be be able to access notebooks of other pupils. Is this achievable through Teams/One Note Class Notebook? I suspect I can't do ALL of this within one Team/Class Notebook. One option I thought of is to create a separate team for each music teacher with their students and set up a class notebook that way. This would be set up with me as a teacher, a guest (visiting music teacher) and a collection of pupils. Would the 'guest' be able to function as a 'teacher' in this scenario? Ideally I would like the 'guest' to be able to add to the content library and to have a 'teacher only' section, but I don't know if this is possible with an external email address. Many thanks for your help to anyone who can assist!2.2KViews1like1CommentTeams and Class Notebook
In the panic to quickly get learning online as schools closed, we moved to using Teams with absolutely no training or knowledge of how it worked. I set up my teams and then activated class notebook through each of the teams. I then did all my 'learning', discovered onenote and have come to realise that my way of doing things probably wasn't the best way to go about setting things up. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. We are in the process of changing to next years school timetable, so I now need to delete 10 teams and class notebooks, but I cannot find a way to do so. It appears that if I just delete the team, the notebook still remains (albeit now inaccessible). Everything I'm reading points me to deleting class notebooks through onedrive, but as the teams were not set up through onenote, there is no evidence on them on onedrive. I also can't delete them through onenote as again, they weren't created there, so there is no evidence of them. I'm actually really enjoying the functions available through teams and class notebook and am looking to build them into my teaching as a permanent feature, not just for this temporary time, so I really would like to find a way to delete these notebooks! Can anyone help me to delete these class notebooks from my teams please?1.9KViews1like2CommentsStaff Notebook to Class Notebook
Hello everyone. I wondered if anyone can give any advice / tips to the following. I teach in a department where I see 11 classes for only 1 hour per week. Many of the classes cover the same content, so for instance I have 5 x Year 9, 3 x Year 8 etc. I have created a staff notebook for all the lesson planning, and a central place staff in my department can contribute to plans, and ultimately a place we can all centrally find 'Pages' and 'Sections' we would then want students to have access too. The issue I am finding is that I create sections and pages in the content library of our departmental Staff notebook but cannot copy it to the content library of any of my Class Notebooks that the students are in, when I select the 'Copy to Content Library' from the Staff Notebook it simply doesn't show any notebooks where I can copy it to. I am using the Windows OneNote App. This is where I am stuck. As a work around I have been having to hack together copies in one of my Class Notebooks, where I can 'Copy to Content Library' of my other classes. However I am finding that classes are all starting to have slightly different versions from the planned departmental ones. Should I actually be looking at 'Copy Link to Section', and linking the Class Notebooks to the central Staff Notebooks as an almost 'live' version? Essentially how are you all delivering Sections and Pages created in Staff Notebook's to the students Class Notebook's? Thanks1.3KViews1like0Comments
