Hello! We have a client asking us - how do we confirm that all the users have OneDrive Backup enabled i.e this section: Yes, we have Endpoint Manager Policy enabeling "backup of known folders" - it shows it is deployed etc. but the client would like confirmation that users in the org have their files in these locations backed up to OneDrive. Any one know if such reporting exists at all? Thank you!Solved7.2KViews0likes2CommentsI don't know how OneDrive works (sync): delete a file, it deletes from everywhere (not backup)
Hello. Thank you all. I post this example because I don't know if I'm missing a step or I'm wrong about how OneDrive works and what for. If get synchronized with OneDrive for Photos folder (and its subfolders), it works good and photos from my cellphone are stored in device gallery and uploaded to OneDrive as expected. iF I delete one photo from my device, or to delete one photo in the Windows/PC, it deletes from OneDrive and all the Synchro Devices (as expected). How can I save my local files with a backup on OneDrive, deleting them from my PC or device folder and still have a "backup" stored in OneDrive? thank you again !4.1KViews0likes3CommentsThrottle copying our data
GoodDay community , We are supposed to switch over so that our users end up using OneDrive as their home drives and Copy a lot of large files to Azure Blob. We thought we had everything ready to copy during our testing but our network got so saturated due to the bandwidth consumed. We opened a ticket with MS premier support and our assigned PFE engineer to see how we could throttle Azure Blob and throttle down the copying speed to OneDrive. Microsoft said there was not a way to throttle and our google searches came out with nothing. We are looking for some software that is "reliable" but can throttle copying data to OneDrive and Azure blob. (Azure blob to give you an idea is sucking 80% of our internet connection (just one server). While budget can be an issue, we do not care at this point as long as we can get something reliable. We do not want something that does blackout hours as our operation cannot be interrupted at night. I am hoping we are not the first ones to run into this situation . Notice : my question posted on the other communities , and I still have no dependable answer ! Thanks2.4KViews3likes7CommentsSS1: OneDrive integration with Edge

Hello, As far as I can tell, this has been asked but not satisfactorily answered. My workplace encourages us to use OneDrive, and I need to move to a new laptop soon, so I thought I should finally accede. After seeing my colleagues struggle with syncing, I was happy to see a 'backup' tool instead. I checked the box to back up my Documents folder, which was then about 110 GB. I received no warnings about syncing to the OneDrive folder on my local machine (which I already use for a couple of separate projects) or redirection of my Documents path. After a day of file transfers, I realised that my disk space was being eaten up by a copy of the Documents folder in the OneDrive folder. The size of that Documents folder was now 110 GB, while my original Documents folder was now 95 GB. There were important files missing, so I tried a couple of things (such as turning sync off/on), but the situation is still basically the same. I would like to unroll this mess, but I have no idea whether there is a single complete version of my files either in the original location, in the OneDrive folder or online (where the Details tab says the Documents folder is 52 GB). Please help! I just want to go back to knowing where my files are. Thanks, Rose2KViews0likes4CommentsCannot Stop backup of folder due to errors
In OneDrive settings - Backup tab - Manage backup, I want to unselect or Stop backup of Documents, but this option is not available due to errors. Fixing the errors would involve moving lots of things out of Important Folders that I really don't want to mess with. I do want to exclude Documents from the OneDrive backup. Is there any other way to access this setting?580Views0likes0CommentsPlease make this "service" an actual service thanks.
Just fix that alpha stage service you call one drive, make it so that it can tell which computer connects to it so it doesnt mix and match all files from all my different computers and devices into 1 single folder.. This creates a chaotic mess and also enabling syncing becomes a nightmare because I start see stuff on my daughters computer that belong to me and my wife for example and so on and so forth. Make it so that I can actually choose manually which files and folders instead of the 3 simplistic selections you have (pictures, documents, destop) Maybe I dont want a folder of C:/users/me/pictures to be synced for example there is no way to select any tree like structure !!! just click or unclick those 2 vague options!! (which all btw get mixed into the same mess called "My files" on the onedrive apge... NO make it PC12321/User/whatever folder where there on the physical disk and do the same structure for PC222332 and tablet21312 etc (so that the stuff of each device is saved on the same path/directory as in the device itself!) and THEN have also a "my files" icon to aggregate particular file types if you want to give the user a quick view of his stuff e.g showing only pictures or only pdfs etc... but only as a feature to display data in a different way once one logins to onedrive's page dont ignore the devices that sourced those files and mess with the paths because then it messes also things when syncing stuff among devices!!!!! I want to back up instead of having to manually drag and drop them on the web interface (and pray it wont crash like it usually does when there are thousands of files involved e.g when you copy an entire user folder) also make it so that when it crashes I just can drag the same selection again only this time have it to upload the missing files instead of creating duplicates!!! As when I paste a folder with the same folder on windows it will ask me if I want to keep or update or delete the dublicate file. Or at least have it to remember the upload task so that if it crashes or wifi fails or power gets out or I simply close the tab by mistake I wont have to delete the half way done "job" and upload the entire job again in order to avoid having a ton of duplicates.. e.g I want to upload an entire c:/user/ folder which has thusands of smaller files with game saves program configurations pictures documents etc that total to 18GB and it crashed midway now I only uploaded about 6GB of those files and there is NO WAY (other for me to check 1 by 1 for a few thousand files which have been uploaded and which not and then upload the remaining manually) for me to upload the job completely without getting a ton of duplicates other than deleting what's already there and reuploading the entire thing... and with 30Mbps upload speed this is NERVE BRAKING. And no I dont want just to enable syncing 1st because I am dualboot and loged into ubuntu now (so I cant use the app or the onedrive folder <which I hate to use anyway I'll explain later> ) and also as I said the sync is ridicoulous cause it uploades everything to 1 place... this is the user folder (lets call it johnstef3) of my windows laptop I dont want its contents to be mixed in Onedrive's "my files" with my desktop (which also may daughter may use from time to time) or my tablet or my other laptop etc! As for the Onedrive folder of eve very windows installation (which I got to great lengths to delete from regedit etc exactly because it messes up syncing everything to to everywhere being agnostic about which files belong to which device or which folder on the physical machine and just dumping them all in a specific few locations!!) leave my physical files ALONE or at least give me the option to set that stupid sync "feature" in which you just remove my physical files (Despite e.g saving a jpeg I edited from photoshop to a physical location on my drive e.g C:/user/me/pictures ) and save what essentially is a shortcut to the cloud at C:/user/me/onedrive/pictures this creates a mess and complicates workflows if you actually do work on a computer with the physical data it stores and not just save pictures of your summer vocation that were on your phone because given the simplicity of this service this is the user you target it seems. Thank you.438Views1like0CommentsHow To Turn Off OneDrive for Business Backup If you Can't Login?
I have a friend who's laptop she used for both personal and work, she has now left the company and one drive for business she has installed on her machine will no longer login due to her works Microsoft account being closed. The issue I have is that she had chosen to backup her Desktop, Documents and Pictures folder to Onedrive, this means these folders have been moved from C:\Users\Username\ to Onedrive, Normally if I wanted to turn off Onedrive backup and restore these folders back to her local drive, I would open OneDrive Settings and Select Manage backup and then turn off backup for these folders, which would restore the Desktop, Documents and Pictures folder back to the Local Drive (ie C:\Users\username\). As I am unable to login to OneDrive I cannot get to the Manage Backup Option in Settings. Does anyone know how I can restore the Location of the Desktop, Documents and Pictures folder without going to Settings in OneDrive?127Views0likes2Comments
