Error message - can't send message before X approves conversation
Hello, I'm using Teams with two accounts on my professional laptop (one with my email@organization.com, one with my gmail account which I use to speak to people outside the organization as IT limited communication with external users). I added several people from a prior organization on my gmail Teams account and I encountered an error several times (4 times out of 8 people added). First, I started a conversation with individual users and after a while, I am no longer able to send them any messages (but I continue to receive theirs). I get an error that says : "X doit accepter votre demande de conversation avant que vous puissiez lui envoyer votre prochain message" (FR) "X must approve your conversation request before you are able to send anymore messages" (I'm using the French version of Teams so I'm translating the error message) I managed to circumvent the issue by creating a group chat with the person I was speaking to and another user (either my professional account or another external user), and I have not encountered this error again (so far). Does anyone know what may have caused this ? Any idea on how to fix this ? Thanks,
Approval not updating "Modified By" user
We have been experiencing the behaviour on SharePoint Online. When a Approver user approves a SharePoint item (Document or page), the "Modified By" user does not update to the Approver user. Instead it remains as the user who last modified the document. When the Approver user approves the "Modified Date" does update to the time of approval. Here is another discussion about the same behaviour but it has no replies. Does anyone know if this behaviour is by design or a bug in SharePoint? Does anyone know if it is possible to capture this Approver user? For example through SharePoint REST
Automatic notifications with the new "Private Draft" mechanism
SharePoint has a new built-in approval mechanism called Private Drafts that has started rolling out since the start of 2023. This is explained here :https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/create-a-private-sharepoint-page-or-news-post-e9aa12cc-1ced-4152-bc1b-85dc0192fafe. It isnot the same as an approval flow. We previously used an approval flow via Power Automate for this purpose, which sent notifications to the requested reviewer, but it seems to break when used with private drafts. Now that we're using Private Drafts, we want the Site Owner to get notifications (via email, or Teams), when an approval is requested through the Private Draft mechanism, but this doesn't seem to be possible. SharePoint's "Alert Me" functionality doesn't allow filtering by Approvals, so that doesn't help, and there is no SharePoint trigger for PowerAutomate that works with Private Drafts. What can be done to send a notification to the site owner when a Private Draft needs review?
SharePoint approval for creating files/folders with Flow
Hey everyone, I need to restrain the permissions to create files or folders in the root folder of a SharePoint library, on this purpose I built the following Flow (the images can be found in the attachments) The idea here is to send an e-mail for the admins to approve any creation on the selected folder, and if it is rejected, move the content to a "Reject" folder. Here's the problem: Whenever a folder is created containing files inside of it, an e-mail is sent for every file: if there are 5 file on it, 5 e-mails are sent along the approval of the folder, even though I setted the flow to only do this on the Root folder. Does anyone know how to fix it, or have another solution to prevent creation on the root folder of a SharePoint library? Any return will be appreciated! Thanks in advance. Best Regards, Saulo
Approval Workflow Access
Scenario: I have created a site called "Test" and in that site a document library called "Review Docs", to house documents that need approval. I have two teams. #1 team will create the documents in the "Review Docs" doc library and start the approval workflow. Team #2 will review the documents in "Review Docs" doc library and approve/request change etc. Once the docs are approved the Admins (myself and one other person we have full admin access) will move the documents to another library "Docs Home". My question is about the correct access for each of the teams. Team #1 needs Edit access for the "Review Docs" library only (not any other doc libraries on our "Test" site. Team #2 only needs to be able to approve the documents and should not be able to create, add, edit docs. If we cannot meet the above requirements I am ok with Team #2 having Edit access only to the "Review Docs" library but really do not like the idea of it. This team should basically have read only access to the whole site except the "Review Docs" which would be Approve only. Any help is greatly appreciated!!Page Approval Flows keep breaking
The Flows keep breaking! The day I create them everything works great but the next day, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Hello there, I'm trying to start an approval in Microsoft Flow for documents in a Sharepoint Online library. I don't like the mannager to be an approver, in our company it works a little different and the people who must approve change often. Is there a way to use a Sharepoint list of people as an approver list? This way more people could edit the list of approvers and I could have different lists for different document types etc. I tried "get items" and start an approval for all entries in the list, but this has not the desired outcome.
