Is Edge for Android dead?
As everyone here likely knows, Edge on Android is still based on Chromium 77 which, at the time of this post, is well over a year old. Questions to Microsoft regarding this issue posted here and on other platforms (Reddit) are met with crickets. Is it safe to assume that Edge for Android is dead at this point?[solved] Why can't we use Edge://Flags on Edge Android?
Update: we can access Edge://flags on Edge Android now Edge for Android is based on Chromium, so why can't we access the Chromium flags? I tried Edge://flags , Chrome://flags , about://flags . none of them worked why Edge on Android doesn't let user access the flags to modify the settings?
Collections in Edge for Android
I installed Edge on my Android phone today because I'm using Collections in both my desktop and laptop, and wanted to add some links from my phone as well. I didn't find any way to see / edit Collections on Edge mobile, and I can't find any information about Collections being supported in the future either. Microsoft Edge Canary is the newest Edge app on mobile. here is the app on Google play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.emmx.canary The Chromium version is up to date, latest version, same as on Edge desktop. the UI has some different design elements. settings page is also different. sync is fully enabled and working. Android 9 pie and latest version of Edge Android beta, in the file manager when I "Open with" on PDF file, Edge isn't available. I'd like the same features we have on desktop, Mac, Linux to be available on Android and IOS too. if you want the same, please send a feedback through Edge browser about this. thank you
Edge Android is way too slow
Hello everyone, I started using Edge on my entry-level laptop, and I absolutely love it. Filled with features and SegmentHeap drastically reduces the amount of RAM being used, and it's way faster than Chrome or any other browser I've used. However, on my phone, it's a whole other story. I am using a Samsung Galaxy A50, a 2019 mid-range phone and pretty much every browser performs fine, except Edge, it is horribly slow. It takes ages to load webpages, and when they do load, scrolling and navigating is choppy and slow. I don't understand why this is happening, as every other browser works fine. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I have switched back to Chrome painfully on both my laptop and phone, as syncing between them is very important to me. I've been using Microsoft Authenticator Beta app for a while on my Android phone, today I received an update and now the app works as a system-wide password manager (Password filler), for all websites and apps. This should work on IOS too. Edge on Android is now on the latest version, the same as Edge desktop, everything is new and up to date. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/new-edge-canary-mobile-version-available-now-updated-chromium/m-p/2275690 I'm really concerned about security patches and updates that latest Chromium gets (which is version 86 as of this moment) but Edge mobile (Android) is using Chromium 77 which is almost 1 year old! not only that, each Chromium version has more features compared to the previous one but Edge mobile is missing all of that. why is this happening? why Edge Android is not using up to date version of Chromium?
