On a regular basis, Teams will show messages that are as old as a week ago as being sent "today". Is there a way of actually ensuring that the date is correct, or should this just be expected behavior? I tell you, I really miss Skype at this point. I don't know how Microsoft can mess up this badly on a chat program.21Views0likes0CommentsUpdate caused pasted text to automatically highlight
The recent update to the "new" Teams as made it so that anytime I copy text on a website and paste it into chat it auto-highlights the text. This has added an annoying step in my process when I communicate long complex contract numbers to have to un-highlight everything I type after the paste. I would just like to find a way to go back to where I could copy text from the browser and paste it with it being plain text.6KViews3likes12CommentsChat window opens on top of meeting window when clicking on Teams icon in dock (MacOS)
When I'm on a Teams video call and I'm working on another app, if I click the Teams icon in the MacOS dock, it brings up the Teams chat window on top of the Teams video call window. So I have to minimise the chat window to see the video window. This is because there is a separate window for chats as for a video meeting (and yes I have checked my settings and I have selected that new chats and incoming notifications are opened in the main window, not a new separate window) I can't even resize the chat window so that even if it's on top it's small because of this window resizing bug. That would have been a nice workaround.2.7KViews21likes13CommentsNo longer a prompt to enter file names in Teams
Did Microsoft change the default way new files are created/opened in Teams? Previously if you created a new excel template file while in Teams you would be prompted to enter the name of the file immediately. Now it auto generates Book1 as the name and opens in a separate webpage. I have many flows that rely on the name of the file being set at creation and this is messing everything up.236Views1like4CommentsTeams users cannot sign in if using personal account
Anyone have any luck with this? Know of a work around? Anything know if this is a known issue and if a fix is on the way? Once again Microsoft Support has lived up to my expectations so I'm reaching out here. Create a meeting invite link and share with a bunch of people. When clicking on the link the user is presented with options to download Teams, use the web or open with the Teams App. This applies to the Teams App link. Users with business accounts, and users who join as guest work without issue. On the join meeting window there's a link to sign in for a better experience. Clicking this link show a signing in page either indefinitely or for a while and reverts back to the join meeting window. It appears that signing in to a Teams meeting with a personal account (Outlook.com, Gmail) simply is not supported. If this is the case I would expect a message to say this but I suspect this is a bug in Teams.20KViews1like10CommentsGrouping chats into folders?
Hi All, Just upgraded to 'new' Teams.... and to be honest was hoping that maybe we would finally be able to group chats into folders (or similar) - but no - nothing really seems any different! Is there any chance at some point we can group chats? At present you have a never ending long list of past chats - which is super unusable! All we can do is Pin the most important as favourites.37KViews44likes17CommentsTeams pulls up main window after switching application windows during a meeting
I hope I can explain this properly, please let me know if it isn't clear. OS: macOS Sonoma Teams version: 24277.3502.3161.3007 When I am in a Teams call, I will often need to temporarily switch windows to Chrome or another application. When I tab back to the Teams call, the Main Teams window will pop up on top of the call, which requires me to minimize it in order to view the call window. I haven't been able to find a setting that addresses this specifically. Simplified steps: Join a Teams call from the the primary Teams window or Outlook calendar Switch applications to something else - Slack, Chrome, etc. Click the Teams icon in the dock The Teams call will take focus The Teams main window automatically pops up overlays the call, hiding it Thanks in advance for your help and please let me know if there is anything I can clarify.2.2KViews31likes16CommentsSettings layout in Teams channels for Posts/Threads
Hello, Microsoft has rolled out the new chat layout in Teams channels. I've seen the associated documentation and its arguments in favor of this feature, but several users in my organization still want to use the classic layout (as a post for each message) rather than threaded layouts, as this is better suited to their business. I found several documents indicating that the layout can be set when the channel is created or changed later (https://adoption.microsoft.com/files/microsoft-teams/Threads-layout-in-Microsoft-Teams-channels.pdf). However, I can't find this setting on either the web version or the heavy client (https://cxcs.microsoft.net/static/public/messagecenter/neutral/01e0fd3a-ddc6-4db3-b411-100f86febf85/5fdfc3d6287306c4fc54112660c2fb9ed86d4f94.png). Currently, each new Teams or channel only presents a Thread layout, and there's no way to choose. Do you have any information on how to choose a layout? Is this a setting that needs to be enabled in the Teams admin console? Thanks in advance.Solved155Views0likes3Comments
