Sync
4 TopicsEdge Dev > Enterprise State Roaming / Sync Broke
I noted in Edge DEV my profile stopped syncing even though its set by policy to be on the journey took me to edge://settings/profiles/sync where turn on sync is presented - so i turn it on a confirm and cancel button appear as well as the expected other areas (but showing as off by policy???) hitting confirm just makes confirm and cancel disappear with no changes these are not new? what gives or is changing? is sync just broke in dev for now? Edge Beta and Stable are not impacted.58Views0likes0CommentsExtension Sync with work profiles
Hello folks, i'm wondering how extension sync is implemented with work profiles? Assuming there are managed clients with GPOs to restrict the installable extensions. These policies affect all profiles on the client including the sync-enabled work profile. Imagine a user is signing-in into her M365 work profile from an unmanaged client (which at time of writing can not be prevented!), now she would be able to install any extension. These extensions would possibly have access to all websites she is able to access/logon with her work profile. I assume the additionally installed extensions would then also be synced but would be disabled on the managed client through the policies. Is my assumption correct? How to prevent users from accessing websites through the work profile on unmanaged clients with enterprise blocked extensions? Hi, we want to use the On-premises sync of AD users in our enterprise (> 10.000 users). Unfortunately, it doesn't work. The error message in "edge://sync-internals" is the following: Error Type: DISABLED_BY_ADMIN Action: STOP_SYNC_FOR_DISABLED_ACCOUNT Error Description: Microsoft Information Protection service is disabled The thing is, the feature used to work back when it was first integrated into Edge. At some point (M86 or M87) it stopped working. We have configured serveral group policies, including: RoamingProfileSupportEnabled: 1 RoamingProfileLocation: Path on a network share ConfigureOnPremisesAccountAutoSignIn: 1 NonRemovableProfileEnabled: 1 ForceSync: 1 I tried installing the Microsoft Azure Information Protection client. Now, Edge sometimes says that sync is enabled, but a profile.pb never gets generated. When I restart the browser, sync is disabled again.3.8KViews0likes4CommentsEnforce Sync types with Group Policies
With Edge 85 you have added the abillity to sync also for on-prem Active Directories. And we have an GPO to disable some types of Sync Data. Is there a GPO or registry key to enforce some types of sync data? Beceause at the moment the useres ar able to disable the sync for favorites and settings under edge://settings/profiles/sync. And if the useres do that the sync isn't working anymore. ---------------- If you'd like to see this feature implemented, add a like reaction to this post and send a feedback within Edge.2.5KViews0likes3Comments
