1004 TopicsOptimizing Azure DevOps Jira Integration: 5 Practical Use Cases for DevOps Teams
Many teams rely on Azure DevOps (ADO) for development and Jira for project or product management. While each tool is powerful on its own, things often get messy when work items, statuses, and updates live in separate systems. Integrating the two platforms can remove a lot of friction. Below are six common use cases I have seen from real teams, with concrete problems and solutions to make the connection between Jira and Azure DevOps work smoothly. 1. Keeping User Stories and Bugs in Sync Challenge: Teams use Jira for user requests and Azure DevOps for development tasks. Manually updating both systems is tedious and error-prone. Solution: Enable two-way synchronization so that changes in Jira automatically reflect in Azure DevOps and vice versa (including comments and status updates). This keeps bugs and stories aligned without duplicate work. “Before we integrated Jira with Aure DevOps, I spent too much time manually updating task statuses in both systems. Now, with the automatic sync, my team is focused on actual coding work instead of managing project statuses across platforms.” — DevOps Engineer 2. One-Way Sync for Project Management–First Teams Challenge: Some organizations plan and track everything in Jira but manage code exclusively in Azure DevOps. Developers only need the essentials pushed across. Solution: Use a one-way sync from Jira → Azure DevOps to bring over metadata like titles, statuses, sprints, and due dates. Developers see the context they need without cluttering both systems with manual updates. “We rely on Jira for all project planning and management, but the developers need a clean workspace in Azure DevOps. A one-way sync from Jira to ADO helps us keep things efficient and ensures developers always have the latest information without double entry.” — Product Owner 3. Creating Jira Tickets from Azure DevOps Tasks or Bugs Challenge: External partners or stakeholders may only work in Jira Service Management to manage tickets. Developers in Azure DevOps often need their work mirrored for transparency. Solution: Configure automated ticket creation in Jira when certain ADO tasks are tagged. Both teams can track progress in their preferred tool without duplicating effort. “We use Azure DevOps internally, but our external stakeholders only work in Jira. Automating the creation of Jira tickets based on Azure DevOps tasks or bugs has made collaboration seamless and ensured no work is lost in translation.” — DevOps Lead 4. Syncing Epics, Features, and Work Items Challenge: High-level epics might live in Jira, while features and tasks are managed in Azure DevOps. Without integration, visibility across systems is fragmented. Solution: Sync epics and features so Jira provides portfolio-level visibility, while Azure DevOps remains the system of record for detailed development work. This keeps roadmaps and execution aligned. “Tracking epics in Jira while managing the technical work in Azure DevOps used to cause us to lose visibility. Now, everything from high-level epics to individual tasks is in sync, so we always know where we stand.” — Azure DevOps Product Manager 5. Managing Multiple Jira Projects with One Azure DevOps Project Challenge: Large organizations often run multiple Jira projects (by teams or business units) but only one Azure DevOPs project for development. Syncing everything consistently is tough. Solution: Map multiple Jira projects to a single Azure DevOps project, syncing only the key data (titles, statuses, sprints, custom fields). This creates a unified development view without losing project-specific details. “We have multiple teams using different Jira projects, but we consolidate all development work into a single Azure DevOps project. Syncing across these platforms used to be a nightmare, but now everything stays aligned, and we’re able to track all initiatives in one place.” — Azure DevOps Engineer 💬 Have you integrated Jira with Azure DevOps in your team? Hello everyone, We are experiencing an issue with Microsoft Bookings. Our setup allows external customers to book appointments via the published booking link on our website. However, we have noticed that staff members can still be double-booked, even when their Outlook calendars show them as “Busy.” Here’s what we have already done to try to resolve the issue: Ensured that the option “Events on Office calendar affect availability” is enabled for all staff in Bookings. Verified that in Outlook, the staff calendars have appointments marked as “Busy” to reflect their availability. Shared staff calendars with the Bookings account and set default permissions to “When I’m busy”. Checked that the booking page settings are set to respect staff availability. Despite these steps, the system still allows bookings to be made during times when staff are busy. Our staff mailboxes are hybrid (both on-premises and in Exchange Online), and we are running a hybrid setup in general. We are wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and if there are recommended solutions or workarounds. Thank you for any insights!44Views0likes1CommentUnable to access Onedrive through manager

Stuck doing the same loading error out in manager. Also attempted to reset onedrive directory. Same issue. I have a Windows 11 on a laptop and have been using Onedrive for a long time. This problem happens when the PC is started. Suddenly the program stops after showing up in the taskbar. It goes through signing in and then quits running. For a while a window kept popping up suggesting an update to PowerDrive. That's when Onedrive stops. I uninstalled the PowerDrive program, but Onedrive stills stops. When following the suggestions on the Microsoft page for resetting Onedrive the message that it cannot find Onedrive shows up. Yet Onedrive presumably has been installed in the correct location. I have uninstalled and re-installed Onedrive. Also, re-installed Windows, and the Microsoft 365 family. Each time Onedrive shows up and then stops running. I can start Onedrive, the folder opens, the icons shows up. But a few seconds later the icon is gone. Ideas?10Views0likes0CommentsAfter reinstallation OneDrive, the backup cannot be made due to another cloud service in Windows 11?
Hello everyone, I'm a Dutch Windows 11 user with the following problem: Since one of my Microsoft accounts has been disabled for private usage on my home pc I removed that account and it's folder from my local userprofile in Windows. Note: There was no other way removing it since I could not logon anymore. Even before that account was disabled the Explorer in Windows 11 is extremely slow. Taking about 30 seconds to open or browse files and folders. I found multiple people describing this issue on the internet. I tried running: "OneDrive.exe /reset" (as mentioned in the https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/reset-onedrive-34701e00-bf7b-42db-b960-84905399050c) to fix this problem with no result. I also tried running "wsreset.exe" (https://support.microsoft.com/nl-nl/office/onedrive-opnieuw-instellen-34701e00-bf7b-42db-b960-84905399050c?WT.mc_id=365AdminCSH_Smc) also with no result. At last I removed OneDrive from my pc. Deinstalling it, then rebooted my pc and reinstalled it. That resulted in the following (from Dutch translated) error: "Your Pictures folder in OneDrive can't be backed up because it contains other cloud storage. Disable cloud service syncing in this folder and try again." aakt van uw afbeeldingen-map in OneDrive omdat deze een andere cloudopslag bevat. Schakel de cloudservice synchronisatie in deze map uit en probeer het opnieuw". Since there seemed no way to remove the 'other' cloudservice. Hey I removed OneDrive to install it again. I decided to remove OneDrive agian from my pc by deinstalling it. After rebooting my pc I also removed all OneDrive foders from my %UserProfile% (I have a back-up on USB), then reinstalling OneDrive. You might guessed it, and yes your right I got the same error again! Apparently there is no supportpage on this error so I post it here. Maybe someone here knows it and can provide me with a solution? Thanks in advance! PS. I also have Apple's iCloud running on my pc, I also removed and reinstalled that program without problem thinking it might be the "other cloudservice" mentioned in the error. I use OneDrive for bussiness (School-Microsoft-account) this error I get is on my personal (non-bussiness) MS-account.110Views0likes2CommentsHow to resolve "Fix folder issues to sync x items"?
OneDrive for Business 25.170 (September 2025) for macOS Sequoia. When I click the OneDrive icon in the menu bar, the popup shows "Fix folder issues to sync 108 items.". Clicking not he message does take me to the root OneDrive for Business folder on macOS - not to the individual items. Also, due to the limited size of the UI - which cannot be expanded - the full path names appear shortened, making it difficult to identify the one which are causing problems. (It is somewhat difficult to understand, who comes up with such an unusable user interface design decision for something as important as potential sync issues, but that is a completely different topic.) Any help how to resolve these issues would be greatly appreciated.25Views0likes1CommentSyncing shortcuts between two machines with C: and D: drive
Hi guys, A colleague of mine is having an issue where he is creating shortcuts on his laptop (which has onedrive on the c: drive), which then sync to his desktop but go on to break on that machine due to onedrive being on a D: labelled drive. Is there a way I can set up the shortcut to avoid this issue? In case I've not explained it coherently: - creates shortcut on laptop which is on C: drive - works on that machine - desktop is synced to his PC, which then gets the shortcut but it is broken/cant see the designated folder due to onedrive being on D: Any help is appreciatedSolved14Views0likes1CommentDate taken option removed!
I’m finding One Drive increasingly frustrating as a photographer as the date taken option has been removed and my files are badly muddled, this option was part of the app for years so why did the developer remove it. Very annoying for professional photo work so bring it back.80Views1like2CommentsSyncing Minecraft Worlds to Onedrive
