Hello Everyone, We have over 450+ team site in our SPO tenant and we started to noticed that most of these site does not have an O365 group associated/attached to it. Looks like O365 groups did not get created during the site creation. > The built in filter view in SPO admin page- active sites - shows that all the sites has O365 groups however cannot find them under groups in any admin page (SPO,Exchange groups, or in AzurePortal) > Tried to create a new group via PS and i get this message Connect-SPOService -Url $SPOAdminCenterUrl -Credential $O365Cred $GroupDisplayName="Group Display Name" $GroupAlias="GroupAlias" Set-SPOSiteOffice365Group -Site $ModernSPOSite -DisplayName $GroupDisplayName -Alias $GroupAlias ==== Output ==== Set-SPOSiteOffice365Group : This site already has an O365 Group attached. Hello all, Full disclosure - new to Office 365 Groups and newer than new with Sharepoint in general, but I believe we have a use case in our organization, I am just trying to flush it all out. I have a group of 5 trainers that are mostly remote and cover different geographic areas coordinating different training seminars. Currently they use Google Docs and Calendar for everything. I am thinking I can replace this with an O365 group - but I do have aquestion. Is it possible to have multiple calendars within a O365 group. I believe we have 5 or 7 geographic areas that we run these seminars in. In their google account they have 1 calendar per region where they track the seminar schedule. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks Steve13KViews0likes4CommentsMicrosoft Graph PowerShell SDK Module OneDrive Folder Permissions Assignment
As an M365 Global Admin, I have been tasked with creating a new folder in other users OneDrive root folder (Documents) we can call that folder 'myFolder', then I need to assign a Microsoft Azure Security group ('myGroup') to that folder with read/write permissions. I have a list of users (taking input from txt file of UPNs), and am able to loop through the users and create the folder, so step one is possible, but where I am failing is the assignment of the permissions, am using PowerShell 7 and the MS Graph PowerShell Mod, actually for the folder creation I used the API and invoke-method, but I am running into problems since OneDrive is on top of SharePoint, I am not sure how to accomplish this task. Any help would be greatly appreciated! How can I hide the list of Office 365 Groups in my tenant. When a guest account is added through Azure AD and the invite email is sent, they follow the instructions to login into the Guest tenant and end up on this landing page. https://account.activedirectory.windowsazure.com/r#/applications The Guest User can then click on Groups and Join Groupand see a list of all the tenant groups and the members of any of the groups. How is this possible? A guest user shouldn't be able to see a list of internal groups. The names alone could possibly give away important information (internal project, other third party companies, etc.) Surely there should be a boundary for listing groups between an internal and external user?11KViews2likes18CommentsCan you bring Group Conversations to the Home Page Sharepoint Group?
Hello Everybody. We are having group conversationsby email that are being saved in Groups and you can only see them through OWA(online) in the conversations page. Is there a way to bring those conversations to the Group's SharePointHome Page? We use Groups mostly to store documents and email for conversations. If I can link conversations to the home page of the Group, people will engage more with other tools available at the home page (online notes for example) and may collaborate more in the comments section. Most probably you can do that already and I just couldn’t find it here and/or don't know how to do it! Thank you,5.5KViews2likes7CommentsIs there any way to display file expiration date?
I am have been working with the new Retention and Labels options within the Security and Compliance admin center in Office 365. What I am trying to accomplish is to show within the Group Site document library a column that shows the file expiration date based on either the retention policy or label applied to the file. I want users to be able to easily see this information. I see that in the Preservation Hold Library, which gets created when retention is enabled, has this column by default: However, the standard "Documents" library does not. It does have a "Labels" column available within the modify view area, so my initial thought was to create a calculated column that displays a date based off of what is in the "Labels" column. For instance, if Labels = "3 year retention" then I would add 3 years to the modifed date of the file. However, it appears that the "Labels" column cannot be used in a calculated column. Does anyone know of any other creative ways to display this information? Am I overthinking it? I am hopingMicrosoft will simply incorporate this information into the file information pane in a future enhancement of the service.3.6KViews0likes2CommentsConvert SharePoint Team site to Office Group
Dear Experts, is there a way to extend existing SharePoint team sites so they become Office 365 groups? There is already amigration option for distribution list but I suspect some customers rather have team sites as a starting point for a group purpose.Solved30KViews5likes31CommentsGroup Team Site Calendar view on site page
Hopefully I'll explain this correctly, this seems like such a simple thing. I have a user who created an O365 Group, which of course comes with this great Team Site. They want to add the calendar web part to the home page, which isn't an option. I added the Events web part on the page, which I'd be happy with... they are not. They want to see the good old fashioned month view of the calendar that they're used to seeing when adding a Calendar web part to a SharePoint site. Is this not possible? If you view the team calendar list, you can view the month, but I can't figure out how to display that on their home page.11KViews5likes12CommentsSelected Group Language not honored by created Sharepoint site
Dear Community, Whenever I create a group, the created SharePoint site has a different default language. I always select english, but the created site has a default set as german. Interestingly the Site is only partially german Most menue items are in englisch, but pages for whatever reason is in German. See "Seiten" Microsoft support says this is related to my tenant location, which is set for Austria. It is however stupid to select a default tenant language on location (There are several countries with mutliple official languages). Also we are an english speaking company which just happens to be located in Austria. It is frustratign that Microsoft is pushing us to embrace groups, and the assest created by groups don't honor the group setting. Any Ideas how to work around this?
