Quality
5 TopicsVery Low Quality video camera
It's been a while I see post concerning video quality... I tested with several cameras, and now a razer kiyo 4K and nothing changed ! Always the same "sh*ty" quality with the TEAMS desktop client, and good quality using the web app ! MICROSOFT, what are you doing ? It's been several years customers request an option to set the quality! Why nothing is done on this side ? Are you thinking this is normal to still have a 360p quality and rise the price of the monthly plan ? Come on... someone from Microsoft can take the lead on this topic please ?2.1KViews0likes4CommentsOn my new macbook incoming screenshares are very low quality (for me only)
I've been trying to search for an answer but I'm not sure what keywords to use, so let me know if this is a duplicate of other threads or solves on this forum. Recently I was sent a new laptop from work as the keyboard on my 2018 Macbook Pro died. The new one is the M1 2021 Macbook Pro on Monterey 12.2.1. When I fired up teams for a meeting, the quality my incoming screenshares is awful and basically illegible if the sharer doesn't zoom to at least 150%. I seem to be the only person experiencing this on calls. Testing with my co-workers I have discovered the following things: 1. It is only me who experiences this low quality within meetings with multiple people from my work 2. Different computers within my network can get onto the calls and see the screen fine 3. It was fine on my previous work laptop and i had used both on my home network within the same calendar day 4. My down / up speeds were 600/100 mbps during this testing, so it isn't network latency 5. Incoming video / webcam feeds are fine or the same as before, it is only for screenshared content I've tried with the GPU acceleration on and off with no difference, and can't seem to find any other settings within teams I can alter to try and troubleshoot. Are their mac specific settings I should be altering to try and resolve this? Any feedback or assistance would be greatly appreciated.1.4KViews0likes3CommentsLogitech C922 Poor Quality iOS
Hi, I'm having quality issues with my Logitech C922 in Microsoft Teams, only. I've opened other apps to check (Zoom, FaceTime, etc), and they all show the video quality as expected (sharp and clear). It seems to only be a Teams issue and only since I upgraded to Monterey iOS. I've tried using LogiTune and GHub to see if that would fix the quality, however it didn't. I have fiber internet with a solid connection (300 down and 40 up). If it's an upload issue, it's only for Teams, as Zoom and FaceTime aren't exhibiting the same quality issues. Are there any suggestions? If not, I believe that Teams needs to patch their software to fix the streaming issues of Logitech cameras.985Views0likes0CommentsPersistent Poor Audio/Video Quality when Speaking on MS Teams meeting despite ample bandwidth
I participate in MS Teams meetings for my job, but I am not the administrator of the Teams account (nor do I work for the organisation that pays for and administers the Teams account). The default is for all participants to participate on video and audio, with occasional screen sharing.. Several times recently (including on fairly serious meetings, like Board meetings and job interviews) I've had others tell me that they couldn't hear me / my connection was bad. [ At that point, turning off video hasn't helped much if at all. ] As a work-around, I've had to dial in for audio (but that's a bit embarrassing during, say, a Board meeting). Sometimes I get a message from Teams telling me that my internet connection is poor (or words to that effect), but usually I hear complaints first from other participants, or I can see video problems myself. My broadband is the fastest service that Deutsche Telekom will sell me at my address. My router is a FritzBox!7590. I am not using a VPN during these calls. When I have run speed tests on my connection, the downlink has never been less than 200Mb/sec, and it's usually closer to 250. Uplink has never been less than 30Mb/sec, and it's usually 50Mb/sec. I've checked right after meetings, including meetings with problems, and have started doing random tests during similar hours. I have tried using my MacBook (a reasonably current model) and an iPad Pro (running nothing but Teams during the meeting), and the problem has occurred on both. All devices are running the current released operating systems. I have made a point of rebooting them before calls, but that hasn't made any difference. [ the router has also been rebooted several times recently, but not necessarily before every call ] During calls, I disable all other devices in my house (it's just me here, so I know no one else is streaming or gaming on my connection, but of course I don't know what may be happening elsewhere in my neighbourhood, and contention may be possible -- but again, my speed tests suggest my service remains more than adequate). I've so far had no similar problems with Zoom. In fact, before one important meeting, I got the organiser to do a test with me, but she choose to use Zoom (she thought we were testing my internet quality) and our test was fine -- but during the later Teams call, I had to drop off and rejoin by phone, which was extremely awkward. This "should" work, and it does for most of the participants (others occasionally have issues, but I have by far the most). It's almost like Deutsche Telekom throttles my connection when I start to speak -- I'm not paranoid enough to believe that, but that's how it appears. Because I am a regular attendee to these meetings, but am not part of the organisation that actually hosts the calls, they see it as "my" problem to solve. I could probably approach their administrator to ask for assistance, but if I do, I need to have a plan with a crisp set of requests of them. Does anyone have any suggestions or troubleshooting tips? I have not found anything in the forum that matches my situation closely enough to suggest a course of action.Solved20KViews2likes6CommentsGhosting of frames and Quality deterioration in Microsoft Teams
Make sure to watch in HD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgtQNYHoppA As you can see from the video linked above, the quality of the screen-sharing video stream in Microsoft Teams is dynamically shifting and I've been also experiencing ghosting of frames very frequently. This makes Microsoft Teams completely unusable for my team members who are working with relatively lower bandwidth on the home network. Note that as I have been experiencing these issues repeatedly, I made sure before testing, my internet bandwidth was okay no unusual background network activity in Windows 10 Please advise me to tackle this issue. I live in middle-east. Pretty sure that there are servers for Microsoft in my region. My ISP is even in a tight partnership with Microsoft over its various technologies. So, if server communication isn't the issue, what it could be?3.1KViews0likes0Comments
