Hi All, I wonder if anyone can help with my scenario - it seems microsoft cant! I've just migrated a client from S4B with a hosted provider over to Teams in O365. I've setup a call queue, which rings a group of users (reception staff) simultaneously. When a call comes in, one of the team will answer, while they are busy, the calls that hit the queue continue to come through to them and the screen pop + the incoming call notification are extremely distracting, even pressing reject on the screen pop it just comes back after a second or so. The only suggestion microsoft have been able to offer is for the reception staff to manually change to DND when they accept a call, and then change back to available when the call is complete. Surely i cant be the only person that thinks this is a fundamental need for a PBX system?Solved47KViews0likes21Comments1:1 calls, user is muted as soon as PSTN ringing starts
This only occurs on certain headsets, and started for our users after yesterday's Windows patch went out (10/19/2021). We're on Windows 10. User has Bose headphones; haven't confirmed if they are certified device but they've been working great until yesterday. Now when the user makes a call in Teams via PSTN (we have direct routing), as soon as the call is initiated the user is put on mute. This is a 1:1 phonecall initiated by the user, not joining a meeting where the client mutes you (and notifies you). When the user joins another meeting or makes a 1:1 call to another Teams user, it works fine. It only does this when it interprets that it's a phonecall, and the bluetooth headphones put it in mute. Has anyone else seen this, or know of any controls in the Teams app that can control this? There is no error, it's just a default behavior that I think should be changed, or there's a bug somewhere. The user can only tell because they can see their microphone icon showing it's muted, as soon as the call starts. They have to manually unmute their phone call (that they just initiated) every time they call out to PSTN or anything across Direct Routing link.28KViews4likes56CommentsScript to view users phone numbers or extensions in tenant
Hello, We are moving from Skype Online to Teams and we are assigning extensions to our users. Does anyone know of a simple script that can output "Username" and "Teams Phone Number or Teams Extension" I've tried a few scripts but nothing seems to give me the information I need. Thanks!21KViews1like5Commentsusing teams for incoming support phone-calls
For our support desk, we currently use a software phone that integrates with the helpdesk software we use but it's expensive given how few calls we get. Has anyone setup their helpdesk telephone number to call a group in Teams instead, how has it worked out and how does the pricing work? I know that as we are on E3 pricing for office 365 we need to buy an add-on (presumably per person) and then find a provider for "direct-routing" the incoming calls (which is where pricing gets very confusing as we have a few incoming numbers distributed around the globe/business-area) I am hesitant to initially speak to telecoms company as they are a little "full-on" and I'd like some facts first! I have tried research online but telecoms company seem eager to get you to talk to sales rather than give you the info!4.8KViews0likes3CommentsUsing Microsoft Teams to Place a Call
We are using Microsoft Teams as a replacement for Skype for Business. I wanted to start testing the Phone feature. I was already part of Office E5 (i.e. Phone System license). I then added the Domestic Calling Plan Trial to our subscription then under Teams Admin, I requested a phone number and assigned it to myself. I have since gone back to the Teams Client but I still do not have the option to dial a number or see the number pad to use to call as illustrated in online images; nor do I see that it lists my contact number. Am I missing a step? In the trial, I am just using MS as a cloud Phone system. There was a mentioned that these services can take 24 hours to sync which I am pretty close to that time now. Is it possible, that it really takes 24 hours and I just have to wait it out?3.5KViews0likes4CommentsCommon Area Phones \ Shared phones with resource accounts
Hi trying to make sure CAP is the only way to achieve a shared physical phone. We're trying to get some Teams phones into some factories, where workers can use when calling in issues. Ideally, I wanted to assign a service number to a resource account and assign the resource account to a Teams phone. While researching to see if this was even possible i came across CAP and it looks like what i'm trying to achieve. It comes with additional costs, and of course i'm trying to avoid that too. I just want confirmation that this is the only way to achieve what i'm trying to achieve or if theres an alternative. Thanks in advance3.4KViews0likes1CommentHow to get a list of UNASSIGNED Teams Phone numbers
I haven't been able to figure out to get a list of unassigned Teams phone numbers. I am trying to do it with Powershell and I don't see a cmdlet that allows me to do this. We have numerous numbers that have been unassigned from users and I'd like to see what numbers are available for reassignment. If you have a way, I would very much appreciate some help. 🙂1.9KViews0likes2CommentsTeams Phone at Work and Home
We have a situation where several employees work from the office and from home. What is the best way to handle their Teams phones since they all want a physical phone in both locations? I do not see any way to assign a location to a device, which impacts e911 setup. Dynamic location lookup also doesn't seem to be an option since each of the home networks is not controlled by the company. I know setting up duplicate users, whereby I can assign a number and phone to each user, then setup a resource group per user such that both phones ring, etc., but what are the pitfalls of this approach besides having to pay for another license? Is there a way to do it with a single user ID?1.8KViews0likes2CommentsMS Teams phone number per country
Hi, I tried to call local MS Teams phone number (Croatia) to access a meeting with a ID that was created in Poland but the "answering machine" said the meeting was not found. After I called the Poland phone number, the same meeting ID was found and I successfully connected. Is this by design or am I missing something? Tnx, Luka1.7KViews0likes1Comment
