Permissions
13 TopicsWhat permissions are needed to create teams from a template?
Hi there! I'm trying to create a new classroom team in Teams, but neither my normal account or my GA account has permissions to create teams from templates, nor from another team. The options are greyed out and the tooltip says I don't have permission. The "from scratch" option is completely missing, only "From a group" is available. I've ensured that both accounts have a license (Education A3) and the appropriate permissions in the Teams Admin Portal (where I can create normal teams from scratch with my admin account no problem). Am I missing something? Are there any more permissions required? I've tried both in a browser and in the desktop app.413Views0likes1CommentOneNote on Teams - Permissions view/edit
I created a Team OneNote within Teams. By default does everyone have access to edit this OneNote? If so how can I only give specific members within team the ability to edit. I want 90% of the team to be read only so that only admin/supervisors can edit this OneNote. This was not pre-existing one note, but created on teams.72KViews0likes9CommentsMicrosoft Who App Permissions Failing This App does not Exist or has been uninstalled
Hi Everyone, Trying to roll the "Who" app out to my organisation. I'm getting half the users when the select "Allow" to give it permissions getting the below error message: Who I'll need your permission to perform searches on your behalf. Go ahead and click Allow This action can't be performed since the app does not exist or has been uninstalled. I have had user reinstall Teams. Check the teams admin console and I can't assign global permissions for the app there. This is on the Teams Desktop App, Windows 10 and 11. And not all users. Anyone have any ideas what might be going wrong or how to fix?986Views0likes0CommentsI cannot access admin center.
I am trying to access the admin centre as I believe this is necessary in order to grant my wife access to teams. When I try to log in to it, I am told that I cannot use a personal email and to enter a work email address. My 365 subscription is with my personal email address and could not be linked to any other address. I have tried using my phone number linked to the account but this does not work either.1.3KViews0likes1CommentPermissions in Excel in MS Teams
I've been looking all over the web and can't seem to find anything on this subject. Is it possible to manage who can view and edit specific worksheets in an excel file in MS Teams. I am aware that it is possible to manage the overall access and permission for a document or folder, but is it possible to manage permissions on a worksheet basis? The concrete issue: I have an excel workbook containing sensitive information regarding some sales, and part of the team should be able to view the first worksheet in the excel file, and only a few members should be able to view and edit the entire excel workbook.15KViews0likes1CommentNDI permission not showing although it's enabled globally for the tenant
Hi all, I'm having problems with the new-ish NDI feature. It has passed almost a week since the Global policy of our tenant was updated to include the NDI option. Most of my colleagues have the option on their settings->permissions tab, but I don't. I have confirmed I'm using the latest Teams client (1.3.00.24755 (64-bit)) on Windows 10. Any idea on why this is not showing up?
Solved2.3KViews0likes4CommentsAdditional document library shielded from guests?
Hi, we're soon moving from classic sites to M365 group connected and Teams site collections. In classic we had set up the logic that internal users had a document library with unique permissions that only they could see. Tenant external users / guests were excluded. This worked because we could invite guests into the "Site Visitors" group and have internal users live in "Site Owners" and "Site Members". We then gave the "internal" document library unique permissions in that we removed the "Site Visitors" security group. This made it so that external users / guests could not participate in that library. Now, moving on to the M365 group security model. Here, the SharePoint security group "Site Visitors" is not used. M365 group owners are put into the security group "Site Owners" and M365 group members go into "Site Members". This effectively mixes internal members and guests allowing them access edit permissions wherever "Site Members" is set. I can't come up with a mechanism that would allow me to have a secure document library with this model since a third security group is not used like "Site Visitors" used to be. Looking forward to your input, perhaps you have an easy solution for this. Thanks. Hi, I`m seeking confirmation regarding something that just occurred to me. I removed a user from members in an M365 group through the M365 Admin Portal. Strangely this user didn`t get removed from Teams, it still shows up in the members list. Is this intended behaviour? Thanks for confirming.Solved4.7KViews0likes3CommentsTeam Channel collaboration between departments
We are looking at deploying Teams. What is the process you guys use when you have UserA who is a member of the TeamA department and wants to add UserB from TeamB department to a Channel thats going on in TeamAs Team? Currently when we do this, UserB is able to see the TeamA's General channel and any channels that are not created as Private channels. If they need to collaborate, do they need to create a new Team? (Ive got the ability for end users to create their own Teams turned off). Thanks in advance.1.6KViews0likes2Comments
