Breaking Inheriting Permissions and creating groups
Hello everyone, I am trying to control access to folders from specific user. So I created a library and "stopped inheriting permissions", my plan was to create groups with different access levels and add different users within. But as I was about to do this, I ran into an issue, I realized that groups are created at the site level and because of this, the groups will also have access to the other Libraries I have within the same site...which is something I do not want and is risky. The only option I see so far is to add individual users into the Library and then restrict each folder to each user individually. But the issue is that this will not work in the long run. SharePoint Document Library Default Tags
Hello, We've ran into a small problem with the default column values feature on a SharePoint Online document library. We've set up the enterprise keyword columns default values on a library, and it works fine most of time and adds the tags to the uploaded file, but if a user uses the new button and adds a new docx file from the default templates, it doesn't work. The main reason is that the template docx has no keywords set in it's metadata, but we observed different behavior when uploading files: if the uploaded docx has no keywords set, it gets overwritten correctly. As a workaround we've tried to modify the default templates keywords to match the settings on the doc library, but we've found no method to do this. Thanks in advance. Hi, We recently upgraded our root SharePoint site from a classic to Modern site. In our previous sites, we used managed/structured navigation for ease of use, simplicity, etc. In the new modern site, we have tried to activate publishing so that we may create a structured navigation. However, when we do so, we get the below error. I have done a ton of research on the topic and it seems that managed navigation is finally supported, but we still are having trouble activating the feature. Can anyone assist with this?
SharePoint Online Modern Page Calculated Choice Column in Document Library
Hello, we would like to create calculation that can offer different choices based on another column value. Example: We have a choice column called “Object” and the user can able to select the following values: Books Gadgets Furniture Then we have a calculated choice column called “Object Type” that should offer options based on the selection value in “Object” column. If “Object” = ‘Books’ then, "Object Type" choice options needs to be: Fiction Non-Fiction Educational Children's Books If “Object” = ‘Gadgets’ then, "Object Type" options needs to be: Cellphone Game Console Cameras MP3s/MP4s Would this be possible to do? We tried adding a choice column in a Document Library but we weren't able to click the selection unless we enter Quick Edit mode.
SharePoint Online & Office 365 Backup & Restore Settings.
Our SharePoint needs to connect to various other system so we need a release process. Our Environments are as follows; Dev UAT Pre Prod Test Prod Prod We have a a SharePoint tenancy for each of the 5 environments. Currently only Prod tenancy has live site configuration and data. We need to do a complete data and config copy from Prod to both UAT and Pre Prod. Then regularly refresh them. What is the best way to do this? Prod contains 100 Site Collections, 30,000 Sites (2.6Tb of data)
